The Senior Manager, Communications, leads the development and execution of strategic local communication plans by collaborating with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.

Additionally, the Senior Manager fosters strong team dynamics, ensures compliance with company policies, and promotes a culture of integrity and continuous improvement to advance organizational success.
About the team:
The Local Communications team at Walmart connects national business priorities with communities nationwide. They develop and implement personalized and localized communication strategies that enhance customer engagement, build community trust, and generate impactful earned media. As part of Corporate Affairs, the team leads reputation management and issues response by collaborating with business leaders, store operations, external agencies, and stakeholders. This team excels in storytelling, strategic communication, and operational excellence to deliver measurable outcomes that support Walmart’s business objectives and strengthen its presence across hundreds of markets.
What you'll do:

Develop and implement strategic communication plans in collaboration with team members and cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
Act as a liaison between the local team and Community Relations, US Manufacturing, Giving, and other key partners.
Support re-grand openings and new store storytelling.
Develop and lead measurement as well as report-outs to business partners.
Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Contribute to industry benchmarking and best practice adoption.
Drive continuous improvement by integrating innovative communication strategies and tools.

Proven experience developing and executing strategic communication plans aligned with organizational goals.
Strong project management skills to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives effectively.
Ability to evaluate communication effectiveness using metrics and benchmarking.
Skilled in fostering collaboration across cross-functional teams and global stakeholders.
Creative thinking to identify and implement innovative communication solutions.
Proficient in media relations and managing communication distribution channels.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or related field and 4 years’ experience in corporate communications, public relations, or relevant area OR 6 years’ experience in corporate communications, public relations, or relevant area.
1 year’s supervisory experience or experience leading cross-functional teams.
