About this role
We are seeking an experienced and highly commercial business leader to lead BlackRock’s UK Family Office, Charities, Endowments and Foundations business. This is an established, multi-billion AUM business with a strong track record and significant growth opportunity across all client segments. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and executing the strategic growth agenda for the UK business, deepening BlackRock’s relationships with existing clients, driving new business opportunities, and leading a high-performing team. The individual will serve as the senior representative of the business in the UK market and will play a key role in strengthening BlackRock’s position as a trusted partner to Family Offices, Charities, Endowments and Foundations. The individual is expected to represent BlackRock’s entire suite of services – representing the full range of BlackRock’s investment capabilities, including traditional long-only strategies (active and index), alternative investments and OCIO solutions – and to play a key role in contributing to the continued growth and success of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
Develop and execute the strategic growth plan for BlackRock’s UK Family Office, Charities, Endowments and Foundations business, including client segmentation, market prioritisation, resource allocation and product penetration strategies
Define and own success metrics, including asset growth, share of wallet, client diversification, market penetration and product adoption
Ensure a disciplined approach to pipeline management, client prioritisation and business planning to maximise commercial outcomes
Identify emerging market trends and opportunities and translate them into actionable growth initiatives for the business
Business Development
Develop long-term relationships with large clients within the target market, ultimately delivering against business objectives in terms of assets, net new revenue, new mandates and product diversification
Proactively manage existing relationships and identify and defend at-risk business
Identify and pursue new investment opportunities through consultative dialogue with investors
Work collaboratively with partners across BlackRock globally, including specialist investment teams, sales teams and client service teams, to meet clients’ needs and objectives
Leverage the full breadth of the firm’s expertise and capabilities to deliver innovative and timely ideas and solutions to clients
Develop product fluency across the full range of BlackRock’s investment offerings, including ETFs, index strategies, alternatives, active equity, fixed income, multi-asset and OCIO solutions
Thought Leadership and Market Engagement
Act as a senior professional for BlackRock across the UK market, developing relationships with key decision-makers, trustees, family office principals, advisers, consultants and industry influencers
Attend relevant internal and external events to further enhance BlackRock’s profile across the UK Family Office, Charities, Endowments and Foundations market
Identify opportunities for targeted campaigns, events and roadshows to accelerate client engagement and product adoption
Partner with marketing, product and investment teams to develop thought leadership that supports client outcomes and business growth
Team Management and Development
Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and excellence
Assess team structure and ensure resources are appropriately aligned to strategic growth priorities
Attract, develop and retain exceptional talent, with a focus on coaching, succession planning and future leadership development
Partner effectively across BlackRock’s client businesses and investment platform to deliver the firm’s full capabilities to clients
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and maintain a robust risk and control environment, escalating issues appropriately
Success in Role
Success in this role will be measured through sustained business growth, deepening strategic client relationships, expansion of BlackRock’s share of wallet across key accounts, strengthening of the firm’s market position in the UK, and continued development of a high-performing and inclusive team.
Key Qualifications
We are seeking an experienced business leader with a demonstrated track record of success serving institutionally-sized Family Offices, Charities, Endowments and Foundations in the UK, and the ability to operate effectively in a highly collaborative environment by leveraging BlackRock’s global capabilities and resources.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:
Proven business leader with a strong track record of developing and executing growth strategies within the UK Family Office, Charities, Endowments and Foundations market, and the ability to translate strategic priorities into measurable commercial outcomes
Deep understanding of the UK Family Office, Charities, Endowments and Foundations landscape, including key decision-makers, governance structures and investment trends
In-depth knowledge across asset classes and investment products, with the ability to engage clients, prospects and advisers in sophisticated portfolio and market discussions
Ability to represent BlackRock’s full platform, including active, index, alternatives and OCIO capabilities
Self-starter with a systematic, structured and professional approach to business development and relationship management
Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to build, develop and motivate high-performing teams while fostering an inclusive culture
Strong commercial judgement, strategic thinking and execution capability
Ability to drive innovation, identify new opportunities and incubate ideas that contribute to long-term business growth
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the credibility and presence to represent BlackRock externally and engage effectively with senior stakeholders

Our hybrid work model
