The Role
As a Design Consultant, you’ll take ownership of your book of business, ensuring profitability and growth. In this role, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to clients (architects, designers, and contractors) recommending tailored solutions with exceptional professionalism, service, and integrity. You will build strong, collaborative relationships that not only generate sales but also foster brand loyalty and future business.Based in our Boston showroom, you’ll work with architects, interior designers, contractors, and discerning homeowners on exceptional residential projects throughout Boston and the surrounding market.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about achieving sales goals and motivated by the opportunity to build lasting client relationships, with an appreciation for luxury design, craftsmanship, and highly personalized client service.
The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday at the Boston showroom, with time spent both in the showroom and developing relationships throughout the local market.
Primary Responsibilities
- Market Waterworks brand and products to your assigned Waterworks client list, and client leads provided by the company. Generally, all marketing is to the trade.
- Meet or exceed assigned marketing, quote, order and sales goals.
- Cultivate and expand relationships with clients by deeply understanding their needs and presenting compelling solutions tailored to their projects and design vision.
- Actively pursue new clients through social media, networking, territory outreach, and leveraging existing contacts, while building a strong presence within the local architecture and design community.
- Develop and execute a marketing plan that generates leads, project quotes, and sales.
- Meet with clients in their offices, virtually or in-showroom to confidently pitch Waterworks products to secure orders.
- Manage all phases of client projects including initial meetings, product specification and selection, providing quote and pricing, following up to close sale and take payment.
- Provide monthly/weekly updates to your manager: pipeline and project status, marketing activities using CRM.
- Provide a superior client experience to enhance long-term relationships, brand loyalty, and increase market share
- Actively participate in industry and showroom events; i.e. networking events, CEU presentations, lunch and learns, etc.
- Other projects and activities as needed to drive sales and/or grow market share.
Requirements
- 3+ years of outside/inside sales and/or business development experience in the high-end, luxury brand environment; experience in design, interiors, luxury home, architecture & design, kitchen & bath, furnishings, lighting, tile, stone, or another high-touch client environment is highly valued.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales and marketing quotas and goals.
- Success with developing new business and cultivating long-term client relationships.
- Strong appreciation for design, craftsmanship, materials, and the details that distinguish a luxury product and client experience.
- Exceptional communications skills, both verbal and written.
- Digitally savvy.
- Ability to listen and translate client’s needs into sales
- Strong persuasion, negotiation skills and the ability to influence others; close sales transactions/deals.
- Self-motivated and possess the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; CRM and other sales tracking tools.
- Plumbing and/or tile industry experience preferred, though a strong luxury sales, design, or relationship-building background is equally compelling.
- Ability to market outside of the showroom up to 50% of week and actively develop relationships within the local design community.
Compensation for this role is base salary plus a generous commission plan. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Licensed to drive preferred. Ability to travel locally or out of state.
