Cyber Security Engineer

Obrela is seeking a skilledCyber Security Engineer to join our engineering team and contribute to the delivery and maintenance of advanced security solutions for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in cybersecurity engineering, web application security, networking, and database security, with the ability to design, deploy, and maintain security controls in complex enterprise environments.
Core Responsibilities & Experience
- Implement, configure, and tune Imperva WAF, Cloud WAF, and DAM solutions across on-premises and cloud environments, with a strong focus on Database Activity Monitoring.
- Design and enforce security controls to protect web applications and databases from internal and external threats.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, cloud, and database teams to integrate security solutions into production environments.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and integration guides for security platforms and workflows.
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams and customers on security best practices and platform usage.
- Onboard and configure EDR platforms, including host group creation, policy setup, agent deployment guides, and fine-tuning.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- 2–3 years of experience in a security or infrastructure engineering role.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, routing, reverse proxies, load balancers).
- Core cybersecurity knowledge: security principles, threats, and best practices.
- Experience with EDR/XDR platforms.
- Experience working with or supporting external customers.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex security issues.
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (both English and Greek).
Preferred:
- Hands-on experience with Imperva products (Database Activity Monitoring (DAM), On-Premises WAF, and Cloud WAF), is considered a strong plus.
- Familiarity with web application security concepts: OWASP Top 10, WAF policy logic, SSL/TLS.
- Exposure to database concepts or database security: auditing, monitoring, compliance use cases.
- Familiarity with cloud environments and hybrid security architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Cortex XDR, Crowdstrike or Microsoft Defender.
