As aCT/MRI Scan Technologist Assistant, you areinvolved in all aspects of the CT/MRI department operations, includingdepartment stocking, oral contrastpreparation,exam data entry and more.In this role, you will promote a patient-driven philosophy,exhibiting positive behavior that supports and enhances their care experience. This position is an excellent entry into the healthcare field at ClevelandClinic. 

A caregiver in this position worksMonday – Friday, 12:30pm – 9:00pm. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Assure rooms areset up properly before beginning of procedure. 

• Clean roomspromptly post-procedure. 

• Assure patient modesty and comfort,assist patients with changing, answer call lights asappropriate and report any change in patient's condition or behavior. 

• Assurepatient is discharged toappropriatedestination. 

• Check proper identification ofpatient per policy and create patient identification bands. 

• Schedule scans and watchqueue. 

• Verify physician exam order, look atneeds ofpatient and initiate communication and inpatient flow. 

• Document patient history, conditions and any other pertinent information on requisition/history sheet and ensure all data is entered into the computer on day of exam, including nonprocedural changes,additional exams, and order revision. 

• Acquire, archive,transmit and print images via PACS, when applicable knowledge in after-hours transmission of images andappropriate paperworkimmediately reporting any malfunctions to Help Desk and PACS Administrator. 

• Follow Radiation/MRI Safety Guidelines.  

• Operate all equipment properly and with care. 

• Maintain ethical and professional relationships with all customers,demonstrating cooperativeefforts withcoworkers and the ability to accept constructive criticism. 

• Assess the patient's readiness and need for learning, considering all aspects of diversity and inclusion. 

• Determine the bestmethodology to deliver education and receive verbal feedback or returndemonstration tovalidate learning. 

• Provide verbal and/or written instructions for tests/procedures, diagnoses, and discharge whenappropriate. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• HighschoolDiploma orGED  

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross 

• One yearof experience in a healthcare related field OR current radiology student 

• Broad knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy  

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
