IT Portfolio Analysts are responsible to provide clear, data-driven visibility into portfolio health, resource capacity, financials, and delivery performance on IT projects, programs, and portfolios. This role ensures that leadership has trusted, timely insights to support informed decisions. Portfolio Analysts partner closely with project managers, resource managers, product teams, and Finance to maintain accurate portfolio data and strengthen governance practices across the organization.
This is an on site position located in Springfield, MO. Remote work is not an option for this position.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Support the preparation and enhance portfolio dashboards, scorecards, and executive reporting using Jira, Tempo, and other PMO tools
- Support the analysis of portfolio heath indicators and surface trends, variances, and emerging risks
- Support preparation of monthly and quarterly portfolio summaries for executive leadership with clear, actionable insights
- Ensure data quality and consistency across all portfolio artifacts and system of record
- Support the project lifecycle governance process, including stage gates, and ensure that all stage gate criteria have been met
- Support processes to accomplish IT resource capacity allocation and reporting
- Partner with resource managers to validate allocations and identify constraints
- Provide support to IT portfolio management activities, including ensuring that projects and activities identified in the strategic plan are mapped correctly to the IT portfolio
- Support portfolio reviews with IT leaders by preparing accurate and timely date and insights
- Support continuous improvement of portfolio processes and reporting standards
- Support the design and facilitation of processes to evaluate the costs and value associated with the overall IT Project Portfolio spend
- Support generation of reports for Finance on labor and project financial spend
- Work closely with system administrators to maintain data integrity and governance standards within Jira, Tempo, and other PMO tools
Skills:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years experience in a similar role (within a large professional corporate environment)
- Knowledge of IT Project and Portfolio management concepts and practices
- Experience using project management and project scheduling software
- Strong planning, execution, written and verbal communication, and escalation skills
- Organizational skills with acute attention to detail
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- Experience with stakeholder and financial management.
- Experience working with multiple teams concurrently
- Experience developing communications and reporting for senior leadership
- Corporate business experience
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience working within Atlassian Products, including Jira, Tempo, and Confluence
- Experience with Domo, PowerBI or similar reporting tool
- Experience with agile and project management processes, techniques and tools, and solution development lifecycles
