Principal Consultant - Stakeholder Engagement (Mid-Senior Level)

RolePurpose

ERM is seeking an experienced Principal Consultant to join our Stakeholder Engagement team within Capital Project Delivery. The successfulcandidatewillleadthedesignanddeliveryofstakeholderengagementprogrammesformajorinfrastructure,energy,renewables,transportanddevelopmentprojects.

The role will support clients in securing social acceptance for projects, building constructive relationships with stakeholders, managing project risks, and delivering robust engagement strategies thatcontributetosuccessfulplanning,consentingandprojectdeliveryoutcomes.StakeholderengagementisagrowingserviceareawithinCPDandplaysanincreasinglyimportantroleinhelpingclientsdevelopprojectsresponsiblyandefficiently.

KeyResponsibilities

ClientDelivery

• Leadstakeholderengagementworkstreamsonmajorcapitalprojects.

• Developandimplementstakeholderengagementandconsultationstrategies.

• Designandfacilitateengagementactivitiesincludingworkshops,publicexhibitions,focusgroups,stakeholderinterviewsandcommunityevents.

• Adviseclientsonstakeholderrisks,issuesandopportunities.

• Preparestakeholderengagementplans,consultationreportsandsupportingplanningdocumentation.

• Translatecomplextechnicalinformationintoclearandaccessiblecommunicationsfornon-technicalaudiences.

• SupportdeliveryofSocialImpactAssessment(SIA),EnvironmentalImpactAssessment(EIA)andrelatedconsentapplications.

• Managestakeholderdatabases,consultationrecordsandreportingrequirements.

• Ensureprojectsaredeliveredsafely,ontime,withinbudgetandtoERMqualitystandards.

ProjectManagement

• ActasProjectManagerorTaskManageronengagementprojects.

• Managescope,programme,resourcerequirementsandcommercialperformance.

• CoordinatemultidisciplinaryteamsacrossCPDandwiderERMservicelines.

• Managesubcontractorsandspecialistsupplierswhererequired.

• Ensureeffectiveriskmanagementandprojectgovernance.

BusinessDevelopment

• Buildtrustedrelationshipswithclientsandkeystakeholders.

• Identifyopportunitiesforcross-sellingandexpandingserviceofferings.

• Leadandcontributetobids,proposalsandclientpresentations.

• Supportgrowthofstakeholderengagement,socialvalueandsocialsustainabilityservices.

• Contributetothoughtleadershipandmarketpositioninginitiatives.

• Significantexperiencedeliveringstakeholderengagementprogrammesforinfrastructure,energy,utilities,transportation,developmentorenvironmentalprojects.

• Strongunderstandingofplanning,consentingandEIAprocesses.

• Experiencemanagingcomplexstakeholderrelationships,includinglocalcommunities,statutoryconsultees,governmentbodiesandindustryorganisations.

• Provenprojectmanagementcapability,includingbudgetandprogrammemanagement.

• Excellentfacilitation,communicationandpresentationskills.

• Strongreportwritingandanalyticalabilities.

• Experienceleadingmultidisciplinaryprojectteams.

• Abilitytomanagemultiplecompetingprioritieswithinaconsultancyenvironment.
