We are seeking a passionate and community-focusedKaimanaaki Rongoā | Community Health Worker to join our Rongoā team.This role supports whānau accessing NHHT's Rongoā services through engagement, education, administration, and wraparound support. You will help ensure whānau can access the care they need while promoting hauora and wellbeing through a kaupapa Māori approach.You will play an important role in:- Supporting whānau to engage with Rongoā and wider NHHT services
- Providing culturally safe and responsive support and education
- Assisting with clinic administration and reception functions
- Booking appointments and supporting attendance at clinics
- Maintaining accurate client records and reporting information
- Building positive relationships with whānau and community stakeholders
- Supporting a welcoming, mana-enhancing environment within the Rongoā service
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who is passionate about improving health outcomes for Māori and is confident working alongside whānau in a culturally grounded environment.Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience in community health, social services, administration, or a related field
- Understanding of Rongoā Māori and kaupapa Māori models of care
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Ability to engage effectively with whānau across diverse situations
- Excellent organisational and administration skills
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Full New Zealand Driver Licence
- Understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Knowledge of community services and referral pathways
We Would Love to See
- A qualification in health, administration, social services, or a related discipline
- Knowledge of Te Reo Māori and tikanga Māori
- Experience working with Māori communities
- Knowledge of Whānau Ora approaches
- Existing community networks within Te Tai Tokerau
- Experience in reception, customer service, or client-facing support roles
