About the Role

The Prom Bar Supervisor plays a key leadership role within the Prom Bar team at Riverside Park Hotel. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of bar operations, demonstrate excellent organisational and people management skills, and lead by example at all times.

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure a consistently high standard of friendly, efficient, and professional beverage service is delivered to all guests in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. The Bar Supervisor will ensure full compliance with company policies and relevant legal requirements, while effectively controlling bar stock, cash handling, and team performance.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Support and actively promote the Vision, Mission, and Values of Riverside Park Hotel.
• Lead by example, demonstrating strong leadership, accountability, professionalism, and the Riverside values at all times.
• Ensure exceptional guest service by anticipating guest needs and responding promptly and effectively.
• Establish, monitor, and maintain high standards of customer service throughout the Prom Bar.
• Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery during all shifts.
• Maintain effective communication within the team and with management.
• Ensure all cashiering procedures are followed in line with company and Finance Department requirements.
• Monitor till usage, ensure tills are balanced per shift, and investigate and report discrepancies immediately.
• Ensure all waste figures are accurately recorded and entered into the POS system daily.
• Manage stock control procedures and ensure the bar is fully prepared for monthly stocktakes.
• Ensure all bar equipment is properly maintained, serviced regularly, and any issues are reported and actioned promptly.
• Support staffing levels in line with business demands, ensuring appropriate cover at all times.
• Address team behaviour, appearance, attendance, and performance in a fair and professional manner.
• Assist with departmental training and ongoing staff development.
• Conduct or support daily team briefings to communicate updates, challenges, and training needs.
• Ensure all team members report for duty on time and are presented in full uniform to company standards.
• Maintain exceptional cleanliness standards in both front and back of bar areas.
• Check floats daily and report discrepancies immediately to the Manager on Duty.
• At the end of each shift, ensure all cash transactions, over-rings, and variances are fully explained and recorded.
• Ensure correct till operations are followed at all times, including the use of individual till cards and issuance of receipts.
• Deliver skills and service training to approved standards, ensuring consistent performance across the team.
• Ensure all new starters receive a full departmental induction and are supported in settling into the team.
• Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
• Promote a positive, efficient, respectful, and courteous working environment for both guests and colleagues.
• For special functions or events, ensure team members are fully briefed on service requirements, guest expectations, and payment procedures.

• Read, understand, and adhere to responsibilities outlined in the Health & Safety Statement and Staff Handbook.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by Management.
