Title:Bar Back Support

Department: Charter Bar & Eatery
Reports To: Charter Bar & Eatery Manager/ Bar Supervisor

Purpose of the Role

The Bar Back plays a vital support role within The Charter Bar & Eatery, ensuring bartenders have the equipment, stock, and resources required to deliver exceptional guest service. The successful candidate will maintain a clean, organised, and fully stocked bar environment while supporting the wider Food & Beverage team to create memorable guest experiences in line with Midlands Park Hotel standards.

Fixed Term position for over the Christmas Period ending 7th January 2027.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist bartenders during service by replenishing stock, glassware, garnishes, and supplies.
• Ensure beer kegs, bottles, spirits, mixers, and other beverage products are adequately stocked.
• Prepare and restock ice wells, fruit garnishes, syrups, and cocktail ingredients.
• Collect empty glasses and maintain a constant flow of clean glassware.

• Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, storage rooms, and service stations.
• Ensure work areas are clean, hygienic, and compliant with food safety standards.
• Remove waste and recycling in accordance with hotel procedures.

• Rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.
• Notify management of low stock levels or product shortages.

• Provide a warm, friendly, and professional presence when interacting with guests.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and direct queries to bartenders.
• Support the team in delivering excellent service during busy periods, functions, and events.
• Uphold the hotel's values and service standards at all times.

• Adhere to all Health & Safety, Food Safety, and HACCP procedures.
• Follow safe manual handling practices when moving stock and kegs.
• Ensure spillages and hazards are addressed immediately.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required.

• Work collaboratively with bartenders, floor team, kitchen teams, and management.
• Participate in training and development opportunities provided by the hotel.
