Summary of Position

This pivotal role advances our mission to provide exceptional, evidence-based care. The Medical Director oversees psychiatric services, including psychopharmacology, PMHNP supervision, and rTMS therapy. Responsibilities include staff management, regulatory compliance, interdisciplinary collaboration, and staff training. Additionally, this position supports business development through community outreach, events, and content contributions for media and social media, while driving quality improvement and enhancing mental health awareness and access to care.

Essential Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership:

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight in the deliveryof psychiatric services.  
  • Directly contribute to the development and implementationof treatment plans for patients.
  • Staff management of PMHNPs, TMS Techs and front officeadmin.

Psychopharmacology:

  • Prescribe and manage medication regimens for patientswith psychiatric disorders.
  • Stay updated on the latest research and advancements inpsychopharmacology to ensure the highest standard of care.

PMHNP Supervision:

  • Supervise psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioners,providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure quality care delivery.
  • Conduct clinical meetings, didactics, chart review.
  • Conduct treatment planning, manage pharmacologicalinterventions, build patient rapport, address patient concerns/complaints.
  • Co-sign clinical notes of supervised PMHNPs in DrChrono,as required.

RTMS Therapy:  

  • Oversee the application of Repetitive TranscranialMagnetic Stimulation (rTMS) therapy for eligible patients.
  • Stay informed about best practices and emerging evidencein the use of rTMS for various psychiatric conditions.

Compliance  

  • Maintain clinical protocols, policies, and procedures toensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhancethe overall quality of care provided.
  • Participate in compliance initiatives and ensurecompliance in all capacities.

Collaboration:  

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals,including psychiatrists, therapists, psychologists, social workers, and othermembers of the interdisciplinary team, to provide comprehensive care topatients.

Education and Training:  

  • Provide education and training to site staff members onrelevant clinical topics, treatment modalities, and evidence-based practices.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professionaldevelopment within the organization.
  • Attend and participate in the monthly NWS providermeeting.

Community Outreach and Engagement:  

  • Represent the organization in professional settings andengage with community stakeholders to promote awareness of mental health issuesand available treatment options.
  • Request patient reviews, surveys andtestimonials, when appropriate.
  • Participate in ideas and contentgeneration for media features including articles, blogs, social media and more.

Education & Experience

  • Board-certified Medical Doctor (“MD”)or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (“DO”) with a current, active DrugEnforcement Administration (“DEA”) license in California.
  • Experiencein evidence-based psychopharmacology and medication management.
  • Experience managing time effectively with high volumecare.

  • Expert knowledge ofprinciples of communication; verbal and written, to deal with all levels ofpersonnel.

  • Must be comfortableand effective in both as an individual contributor and a collaborative teamplayer in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting as the company grows.
  • Ability to workindependently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong diagnosticskills and comprehensive understanding of medical best practices.

    Compensation: 

    • $400,000 - $450,000 per year.
