Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Network Installation Technician to install, configure, and support network infrastructure during overnight maintenance windows. This role is responsible for deploying network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, and cabling in customer environments while minimizing disruption to business operations.

The technician will follow installation plans, coordinate with remote engineering teams, and ensure all equipment is installed, tested, and documented according to company and client standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and rack network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, and related hardware

• Perform structured cabling installation and patching (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber where applicable)

• Mount and secure equipment in racks, cabinets, and network closets

• Follow installation diagrams, work orders, and engineering documentation

• Label and organize cabling according to standards

• Perform basic network connectivity testing and validation

• Coordinate with remote engineers for configuration, troubleshooting, and verification

• Document work completed including photos, serial numbers, and installation notes

• Ensure installations meet safety, quality, and customer standards

• Maintain tools and equipment required for network deployments

• Communicate clearly with project managers and technical teams regarding project status

Work Schedule

• Primarily overnight shifts to support customer maintenance windows

• Typical hours may range from8:00 PM – 6:00 AM depending on project requirements

• Some travel may be required depending on client locations

Required Qualifications

• Experience installingnetwork hardware or IT infrastructure

• Familiarity withrack and stack procedures

• Basic understanding ofnetwork equipment (routers, switches, patch panels)

• Experience withstructured cabling and labeling standards

• Ability to follow technical diagrams and installation instructions

• Strong attention to detail and organization

• Ability to lift up to50 lbs and work in data center or equipment room environments

• Reliable transportation and ability to work overnight schedules

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working indata centers, telecom rooms, or enterprise IT environments

• Knowledge offiber optic handling and patching

• CompTIANetwork+, CCNA, or similar certifications

• Experience supportingnetwork deployments or infrastructure upgrades

• Familiarity withticketing systems or field service documentation tools
