Manager for Student Sports, Department of Student Services

Nazarbayev University Department of Student Services
1. Operational Management and Coordination:
1)Â managing operational activities related to the development of student sports;
2) participating in the coordination, planning, and development of sports and physical education life at the University;
3) coordinating the activities of sports club coaches, overseeing and managing service contracts, financial reporting, and training schedules;
4) keeping records and distributing sports uniforms, equipment, and sporting gear for the University’s national teams;
5) participating in monitoring cleanliness, general order, discipline, compliance with labor protection regulations, fire safety, safety procedures, sanitation, and hygiene at the University's sports facilities and venues.
2. Collaboration and External Relations:
1) participating in establishing and developing cooperation with other universities, youth organizations, and local authorities responsible for the development of sports in the Republic of Kazakhstan and abroad;
2) developing communication with other University departments to promote student sports life and healthy lifestyle, in collaboration with the communications manager of the University;
3) participating in consultations with government agencies, other organizations, and University departments within the scope of the role's responsibilities.
3. Financial Management and Documentation:
1) carrying out operational activities related to the financing of student sports, including the timely formation of the budget for the procurement of goods and services;
2) preparing the necessary documentation related to the financial aspects of sports activities.
4. Planning and Development
1) developing and coordinating the activities of student sports organizations, preparing their annual work plan;
2) preparing proposals for the leadership regarding the development of sports and physical education in University life.
5. Consultation and Support for Students:
1) providing guidance and consultation for students participating in city, national, and international tournaments and competitions.
6. Risk Management and Monitoring:
1) controlling the processes of risk identification, assessment, management, and monitoring within the scope of the role;
2) development of projects, conclusion and subsequent monitoring of the execution of contracts and supplementary agreements initiated by the Department within its area of competence.
Education requirements (level, field, licenses, professional certifications, etc.):Â
Higher education in sports and physical education, sports management, public relations, or international relations
Workexperience requirements:Â
1) At least 3 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, or at least 1 year of experience with a Master's degree, in the field of educational institutions, youth sports activities, extracurricular development, or youth engagement programs;
2) work experience in large organizations, preferably in educational, research, or international institutions
Knowledge, skills, and competencies requirements:Â
Knowledge:
1)Â Knowledge of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the fields of education, culture, sports, and youth policy;
2) understanding of the system of physical education and sports organization in local and leading international universities;
3) proficiency in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
4) familiarity with the organization of sports life in academic settings;
5) knowledge of sports standards and national leagues;
6) knowledge of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the status of Nazarbayev University, Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools, and Nazarbayev Fund", as well as other legislative and regulatory acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of higher education.

Language requirements:Â
Fluent in Kazakh, Russian, and English for effective business correspondence, documentation, analytical materials, interaction with students and other structural departments, consultants, and partners
Recruitment and selection process
