
Staff Nurse
Patient Care
• Participates in the planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care within the haemodialysisÂ
clinical setting:
− Undertakes clinical/patient assessments pre, during and post dialysis treatment to evaluateÂ
effectiveness of careÂ
− Adheres to all FMC Policies and Work Instructions related to clinical and operationÂ
management
− Reviews blood test results and report to Medical Director of any abnormalities
− Educates patients on their diet, fluid, medications and blood pressure management toÂ
optimise their clinical outcomes
− Motivates and encourages patient’s adjustment to CHD
− Monitors the water treatment system and fluid for dialysis to ensure provision of safe,Â
quality dialysis therapies
• Establish an effective relationship with patients and maintain good communication withÂ
patients and relatives; and give adequate support.Â
• Ensures/promotes a safe, secure and healthy working environment to staff and aÂ
comfortable, safe environment for visitors and patients as detailed in the IPC andÂ
environment policies
• Ensure all equipment is clean, safe and in good working condition; and report defectsÂ
through appropriate channels.
• Maintains accurate patient information in medical records, including Therapy DataÂ
Management System (TDMS)/EuClid Clinical Information system and abides by confidentialityÂ
and Privacy Policy.
• Protects the rights of patients by adhering to Privacy Principles and providing an excellentÂ
standard of care
• Actively participates in the quality improvement process by reporting all incidents, hazardsÂ
and opportunities for improvement
