Product Safety & Stewardship Specialist

Job Description:

General Purpose of Job

Work in Product Safety & Stewardship (PSS) team, supporting mainly Advance Materials (AdMat) by serving as a key gatekeeper of regulatory check for global new product or sample introductions, providing Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and labels, responding to customer requests on related regulations, and supporting product compliance across various applications.

This role will also be responsible for China Hazardous Chemical registration for Admat Products, regulation owner for certain APAC countries regarding Global Harmonized System (GHS) implementaion and hazardous chemical control.

Prioritized Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Withminimum supervision andmuch decision-making:

• Good knowledge of Global Harmonized System (GHS), responsible for preparing SDS using SAP-EHS.
• Well understood of product life cycle in chemical companies, workout solution with business functional teams upon product safety concerns.
• Effective communicator, able to gather information from stakeholders for decision making.
• Able to monitor and manage regulatory and classification updates, pro-actively communicate and work together with business on a regular and timely basis, to solve problem and minimize business impact.
• Good manage of office softwares, skilled in using excel for data analysis, and PPT.

 Other general responsibilities:

• Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
• Assists other employees in accomplishment of Huntsman company goals.
• Participates in and completes company-required training programs.
• Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.

Education and Experience                                                                                    

A bachelor's degree or above is required. One year of relevant experience may typically be substituted for one year of formal education.  Indicate minimum expectations for this job.

Candidates with demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance automation, SDS/labeling digitalization, regulatory data management, workflow automation, AI-assisted document review, or other digital solutions supporting Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance (PSRC) activities may be considered with flexibility regarding certain qualification requirement.

Specific Skills and Knowledge

• At least 3 years’ experience in product safety and stewardship in chemical/pharmaceutical industry.
• Expertise in GHS of classification and labeling of chemicals, regulatory compliance of other end use applications.
• Fluency in English.
• Basic toxicology and ecotoxicology understanding
• Ability to work independently and good cooperation whthin team
• Good project management skills
