As an NHS Pensions Administrator, you’ll play an important role in delivering high-quality, fully managed pension services to NHS clients using Civica’s payroll platforms. Reporting to the Team Manager, you’ll support a wide range of administrative activities—from data entry and record management to processing benefit statements, retirement applications, and customer queries.Â
You’ll be the first point of contact for client staff, ensuring queries are resolved promptly, professionally, and in line with service level agreements. This is an entry-level administration role where accuracy, attention to detail, and strong customer service skills are key to success.Â
You’ll join a supportive team environment where you’ll gain experience, develop skills, and contribute to helping NHS staff manage their pension needs. Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
• Data input and administrative processingÂ
• Filing and maintaining paper and electronic recordsÂ
• Receiving, organising, and processing informationÂ
• Answering calls and supporting customers with basic pension queriesÂ
• Producing benefit statementsÂ
• Opting members into and out of the NHS Pension SchemeÂ
• Processing refund requestsÂ
• Guiding members through the retirement processÂ
• Submitting retirement applicationsÂ
• Managing incoming and outgoing mailÂ
• Assisting Senior Pensions Administrators as requiredÂ
• Supporting general administration dutiesÂ
• Experience delivering excellent customer service in a customer-focused environmentÂ
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelÂ
• Ability to prioritise work and remain calm under pressureÂ
• Clear and effective communication skillsÂ
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detailÂ
• Willingness to follow established proceduresÂ
• Ability to use initiative within a team environmentÂ
• Strong time management skillsÂ
• Positive approach to change and continuous improvementÂ
• Logical thinker with good problem-solving abilityÂ

Experience / QualificationsÂ
• Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) including Maths and EnglishÂ
• Experience working in a customer-focused environmentÂ
