Job Description:
The Moapa Band of Paiutes (MBOP) Tribal ChildCare program assists eligible Native
American/Alaskan Native families in Clark County by providing access to high-quality, low-cost childcare. Our
goal is to enhance the availability of affordable, high-quality childcare in Southern Nevada. MBOP Tribal
ChildCare is funded by the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) through the U.S. Department of Health
and Human Services, under the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996. This
act consolidated funding for childcare under Section 418 of the Social Security Act [42 U.S.C. § 6180] and made
such funding subject to the requirements of the Child Care and Development Block Grant. Our mission is to
offer safe, supportive, high-quality cultural and educational childcare services to Native American/Alaskan
Native families, both on and off the Moapa Reservation. We aim to provide a healthy childcare experience
that fosters each child's social, emotional, and cognitive growth. The MBOP Tribal ChildCare program operates
a Tribally Operated Center located on the Moapa Reservation and offers a 12-Month Certificate subsidy
program for childcare provided by In-Home/Family Care Providers, exempt programs, before/after school
programs, and licensed centers throughout Clark County.
The MBOP Tribal ChildCare Office Aide will perform all clerical and supportive duties under the prescribed
methods of the MBOP Tribal ChildCareās Tribally Operated Center. The TCC Office Aide works in coordination
with the TCC Administrative Assistant for processing orders for the Tribally Operated Center. Their function is
to manage the office operations at the Tribally Operated Center under the direction of the TCC Assistant
Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Greets all Parent/Guardian(s) and visitors ā Including check in/check out
ā¢
Accepts applications and routes them directly to the Assistant Director and the assigned TCC Case
Manager
ā¢
Answer phones, take messages, routes calls to the appropriate staff
ā¢
Provides printing, copying, and scanning support for document retention
ā¢
Deliver oral or written messages
ā¢
Manages and routes incoming/outgoing mail
ā¢
Maintains the master contact list for providers, vendors, and parent/guardian(s)
ā¢
Works in coordination with our TCC Administrative Assistant for processing orders
ā¢
Perform any/all data entry tasks ā ProCare, Curricula, Fire/Lockdown Drills, Health & Safety and Food
Nutrition
ā¢
Maintains files and records for enrolled children in coordination with the TCC Case Manager
ā¢
Maintains a master calendar for the department and staff attendance
ā¢
Assists with service delivery for clients (checks or purchases)
ā¢
Minor transportation needed to deliver or pick up items by request (when needed)
ā¢
Clerical support for TCC Teachers, TCC Cook, TCC Cultural Specialist, TCC Lead Teacher and TCC
Assistant Director
ā¢
Write and edit documents from letters, reports, and instructional documents
ā¢
Creates flyers for consumer education for clients and our social media accounts
ā¢
Manages the programās Community Bulletin Board
ā¢
Manages the programās social media accounts and sends out mass emails of notices to clients
ā¢
Stocks, orders, and sorts of various office supplies as needed (inventory management)
ā¢
Reports when repairs or replacements are needed and provides follow up until completion
ā¢
Maintains cleanliness and order in the main office
ā¢
Attend Tribal Community events, Outreach Events, and Conferences
ā¢
Participates in mandatory trainings for professional development
ā¢
Preform related duties as required or assist with program needs as other duties assigned under the
MBOP Tribal ChildCare Project Director/TCC Assistant Director
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Ability to communicate professionally and work with existing staff, vendors, parent/guardian(s), and
visitors
ā¢
Ability to communicate well with a broad cross-section of the community that includes low-income
residents and members of Native American/Alaskan Native Tribal Members in the urban area
ā¢
Ability to work effectively with Native American/Alaskan Native Tribal Communities on the rural
reservation
ā¢
General knowledge/understanding of the pace of bureaucracy in which we work
ā¢
General knowledge in confidentiality, HIPPA, and understand you are considered a āmandated
reporterā
ā¢
Once trained, be able to work independently and proficiently to manage all responsibilities
ā¢
Must have experience working with Microsoft 365 Applications: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint,
OneDrive, and TEAMS including Adobe Suite
ā¢
Preform other duties as required
Minimum Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
ā¢
High school diploma or GED is required.
ā¢
Applicants must at least have (2) yearsā experience in data entry and/or receptionist position
ā¢
Applicants must at least have (2) yearsā experience in customer service
ā¢
Must have a valid Nevada Driverās License
ā¢
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and a comprehensive background check.
ā¢
Must have tuberculosis (TB) clearance and COVID-19 vaccination or demonstrate a willingness to
obtain required documentation.
ā¢
Must obtain and maintain a valid Food Handlerās Card (or be willing to obtain upon hire).
ā¢
Must obtain and maintain valid CPR and First Aid certification (or be willing to obtain upon hire).
ā¢
Must be physically able to lift and carry children weighing up to forty (40) pounds and actively
participate in classroom and outdoor activities.
ā¢
Willingness to complete CCDF-required training within the first ninety (90) days of employment.
