Senior Lead SW Developer,AI/ML Engineering, Digital Services, SW

Join ourDigital Services, SW organization in Espoo or Hyvinkää, Finland, where we build and operate platforms and solutions acrossIoT Platform, Digital Services, and Analytics Platform. Our teams develop scalable cloud-native systems enabling connected fleets, remote monitoring, intelligent maintenance, and AI-driven experiences. We work in a hybrid model so there’s possibility to work remotely couple of days a week.

As aSenior Lead SW Developer,AI/ML Engineering you will play a key role in bringingAI and Generative AI capabilities into production-grade digital services. The role combinessoftware engineering, data platforms, and applied AI, enabling you to work across multiple use cases and projects within KONE Digital Services.

What you’ll do

• Design and developAI-enabled features and services across digital platforms

• IntegrateAI/ML and Generative AI models into backend systems and applications

• Build and maintainend-to-end AI solutions (data pipelines → model → APIs → production systems)

• Evaluate and experiment with differentAI models and architectural approaches (e.g., prompt-based, retrieval-based, fine-tuning where applicable)

• Ensure solutions arescalable, secure, and reliable in production environments

• Deploy, monitor, and optimize services inAWScloud platforms

• Collaborate acrosssoftware, data, and product teams to deliver impactful solutions

What we’re looking for

• Experience in software development with Python

• Hands-on experience with AI/ML and Generative AI (prompt engineering, embeddings, RAG concepts, Guardrails & Evals, Agentic AI)

• Experience building APIs and integrating services into production environments

• Familiarity in building vector databases in AWS

• Familiarity in building observability in Generative AI solutions

• Familiarity with AWS Cloud & Key Services (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, Bedrock, OpenSearch)

• Knowledge of databases and data processing (SQL/NoSQL)

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices

• Strong collaboration and communication skills

Nice to have

• Experience working with data platforms such as Databricks (or similar)

• Background in data science, analytics, or applied machine learning

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or microservices architectures
