Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable Mixer / Production Operator to support a manufacturing operation in Worcester, MA.
This position is responsible for retrieving, measuring, mixing, screening, and preparing raw materials used in the manufacturing process. The Operator will work with a variety of materials, including abrasive grains, ceramic materials, chemicals, resins, and other compounds, preparing materials for subsequent mixing and molding operations.
This is a hands-on manufacturing position that requires the ability to accurately measure materials, follow established production instructions, safely handle raw materials, and operate or tend mixing and screening equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Retrieve and transport raw materials required for production.
- Accurately measure and prepare materials according to established production requirements.
- Operate or tend equipment used to mix and screen manufacturing materials.
- Manually mix or re-screen materials as required.
- Prepare material for subsequent mixing and molding operations.
- Work with abrasive grains, ceramic materials, resins, chemicals, and other manufacturing compounds.
- Handle materials stored in a variety of containers, including bags, drums, totes, bulk bags, hoppers, and smaller containers.
- Screen and re-screen materials to meet production requirements.
- Prepare bond materials for handoff to other production operations.
- Follow established manufacturing procedures and work instructions.
- Maintain an organized and safe work area.
- Work effectively as part of a manufacturing and production team.
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, production, mixing, blending, batching, material handling, or machine operating experience preferred.
- Experience weighing, measuring, or preparing raw materials is highly desirable.
- Comfortable working with powders, grains, resins, chemicals, ceramics, or similar manufacturing materials.
- Ability to accurately follow formulas, measurements, production instructions, and work procedures.
- Basic math skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Dependable attendance and ability to consistently report for an early 5:00 AM start time.
- Ability to handle materials stored in containers weighing approximately 40โ50 pounds.
Physical / Work Environment
This is a hands-on manufacturing position involving the handling and preparation of raw materials. Candidates should be comfortable working around production equipment and handling materials contained in bags, drums, totes, bulk containers, and hoppers.
The position may involve frequent standing, material handling, measuring, screening, and movement of production materials.
