Job Summary
The Company Driver II is an experienced driving role responsible for safely and efficiently operating company vehicles to transport goods, materials, or personnel in support of business operations. Role OverviewThe Company Driver II performs regular driving duties using company‑owned vehicles, typically within a defined geographic area. This role is responsible for following designated routes, schedules, and procedures while ensuring vehicle safety, cargo integrity, and compliance with all applicable laws and company policies. More complex issues or unusual situations are escalated to supervisors as needed.Key ResponsibilitiesVehicle Operation & TransportationSafely operate company vehicles to transport materials, goods, or personnel as assignedComplete assigned routes, pickups, and deliveries in a timely and professional mannerAdjust routes or schedules as needed to accommodate traffic, weather, or operational changesSafety, Compliance & Vehicle CareFollow all traffic laws, DOT regulations (if applicable), and company safety policiesConduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety issuesMaintain cleanliness and proper condition of assigned vehiclesEnsure safe loading, securing, and unloading of materialsDocumentation & CommunicationAccurately complete logs, delivery records, trip reports, or electronic tracking entriesCommunicate delays, issues, or incidents promptly to supervisors or dispatchMaintain clear, professional communication with internal teams and external contactsCustomer & Site InteractionServe as a professional company representative during deliveries or site visitsFollow customer, facility, and site‑specific safety and security requirementsAddress routine customer questions or issues courteously and appropriatelySupport & Continuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve route efficiency, safety, or service reliabilityProvide informal guidance to Company Driver I roles as neededSupport training, safety meetings, and compliance initiativesQualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredValid driver’s license appropriate to vehicle type; CDL required if applicableTypically 2–4 years of professional or commercial driving experienceClean or acceptable driving record per company standardsKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong knowledge of safe‑driving practices and traffic regulationsAbility to operate vehicles confidently and independentlyGood time‑management and organizational skillsAbility to follow routes, schedules, and written instructionsStrong professionalism and customer‑service orientationAbility to work independently with limited supervisionAdditional Job Details
