Essential Duties
- Monitors and reviews operations of admission, registration, and student financial assistance; ensures smooth work flow; ensures work product meets professional standards.
- Serves as informational resource to prospective students, current students and parents; investigates and resolves problems or difficulties related to admission, registration, and financial assistance. Interprets policies and procedures.
- Performs a variety of complex to advanced administrative tasks which may include coordinating student services/operations; updates, maintains and composes correspondence; processes/oversees admission, registration and financial assistance related transactions; perform various financial and budgetary tasks.
- Oversees staff; assists in the enforcement of policies and procedures; establishes schedules and reviews performance.
- Gathers and analyzes statistical information regarding department's programs and activities; produces reports.
- Exercises judgment in providing guidelines; advise staff regarding admission, registration and financial assistance objectives.
Loan Processing & Data Management: Execute high-volume, detail-oriented data entry and documentation review for student loans, ensuring total accuracy and compliance while maintaining organized filing systems and generating standard reports.
Compliance & Quality Assurance: Monitor loan requirements—including entrance and exit counseling—while assisting with routine audits and identifying complex discrepancies for escalation to professional staff.
Customer Support & Communication: Provide high-quality service via phone and email to resolve general financial aid inquiries, distribute status updates to students, and support the broader team through cross-training during peak periods.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires eighteen months of coursework or training beyond high school and three years of admission, registrar or student financial assistance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of unit's operations, policies, and procedures
- Knowledge of computer and office applications
- Knowledge of related state and federal laws, e.g. FERPA
- Oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with people with diverse backgrounds
- May require supervisory, clerical and/or research skills
