HowĀ you willĀ make an impact?āÆĀ
AsSenior Licence Manager,Ā you willĀ be responsible forĀ the strategic and operational management of complex software licence portfolios with a focus on SAP,Ā MicrosoftĀ and Oracle. You will ensure the cost-optimised, legallyĀ compliantĀ and future-oriented use of our software products and actively support global IT purchasing.Ā
You will work closely with Procurement, Legal, Finance, IT Architecture and the technical departments and make a significant contribution to the further development of the company-wide licencing strategy.
Your Responsibilities:āÆĀ
Strategic licence and contract managementĀ
- Development and implementation of global licensing strategies, particularly for SAP,Ā MicrosoftĀ and Oracle,Ā but also forĀ numerousĀ other vendors;
- Analysis, evaluation and optimisation of existing software contracts and licensing models;
- Preparation, support and execution of complex contract and price negotiations with manufacturers and resellers, both independently andĀ as part of a team;
- Collaboration in the introductionĀ andĀ subsequentĀ support of a SAM tool from ServiceNow;
- Close management of a managed service provider for licences;Ā
- IdentifyingĀ cost reduction potential and deriving measures for consolidation and efficiency improvement.Ā
Operational licence managementĀ
- Ensuring compliance and minimising licensing risks;Ā
- Establishment, maintenance and further development of licence inventories and databases (SAM tools);Ā
- Conducting licence requirement and usage analyses;Ā
- Support andĀ assistanceĀ with external audits (e.g. SAP measurement, Microsoft True-Up, Oracle LMS);Ā
- Advising internal stakeholders on all licensing issues.Ā
Stakeholder and interface managementĀ
- Close cooperation with IT purchasing, enterprise architecture,Ā securityĀ and finance;Ā
- AdvisingĀ departments on licensing models, deploymentĀ scenariosĀ and cost implications ;
- Support for cloud transformation programmes (e.g. SAP S/4HANA,Ā SAPĀ RISE,Ā Microsoft Azure / M365, Oracle Cloud).Ā
Process and tool developmentĀ
- Further development and automation of licence management processes;Ā
- Participation in the design and expansion of global SAM governance;Ā
- Introduction and optimisation of SAM toolsĀ (Service Now).Ā
Required key competencies and qualifications:Ā
Professional qualifications:Ā
- Degree in business informatics, computer science, businessĀ administrationĀ or comparable qualification;Ā
- At least 5ā7 years of professional experienceĀ in licence management or IT procurement at a global company;Ā
- Very goodĀ knowledge of licensing models for:Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā -SAPĀ (ECC, S/4HANA, Digital Access, engine licences, surveying);Ā
Ā Ā Ā - MicrosoftĀ (M365, Azure, Windows Server/SQL, Enterprise Agreements);Ā
Ā Ā Ā - OracleĀ (database, middleware, Java licensing, Oracle LMSĀ methodology).Ā
- Experience in supporting complex audits and contract negotiations;Ā
- Practical experience in using SAM tools (especially ServiceNow).

- Analytical,Ā structuredĀ and solution-oriented approach to work;Ā
- Strong negotiation skills and confidence in dealing with manufacturers;Ā
- Strong communicationĀ skills with management and international stakeholders;Ā
- Independent, proactive approach to work andĀ a high levelĀ of responsibility;Ā
- Confident manner in an international environment.Ā
Languages:Ā
Very goodĀ written and spoken German and English.Ā
