Merge medical imaging solutions, offered by Merative, combine intelligent, scalable imaging workflow tools with deep and broad expertise to help healthcare organizations improve their confidence in patient outcomes and optimize care delivery.
The Senior Software Developer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and maintenance of the Merge Universal Viewer (MUV), a web-based diagnostic imaging platform. Working as part of an Agile team, this individual will develop advanced imaging workflows, visualization capabilities, and interoperability features while ensuring high levels of quality, performance, and reliability. The successful candidate will bring strong medical imaging and web development expertise, contribute to technical design discussions, mentor junior team members, and help drive continuous improvement in engineering practices and product quality.

KeyResponsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain software components forMUV.

  • Develop and execute automated tests to improve product quality and regressioncoverage.

  • Participate in technical design, code reviews, and Agileceremonies.

  • Investigate and resolve software defects and performanceissues.

  • Troubleshoot complex customer and productionissues.

  • Contribute to advanced imaging and visualizationcapabilities.

  • Collaborate with Product Management, Regulatory Affairs, Support, and Architecture teams to ensure solutions meet business, customer, and regulatory requirements.

  • Mentor junior developers and share technical knowledge across theteam.

Required Skills &Experience

MedicalImaging

  • Experience developing medical imagingsoftware.

  • Familiarity with DICOM standards and imagingworkflows.

  • Familiarity with PACS and enterprise imagingenvironments.

  • Knowledge of 3D visualization concepts including MPR, MIP, and VolumeRendering.

SoftwareDevelopment

  • Strong web developmentexperience.

  • Strong JavaScript and/or TypeScriptexperience.

  • Strong Angular developmentexperience.

  • Experience with C# and .NETdevelopment.

  • Experience developing and maintaining automated testsuites.

  • Experience working in Agile developmentenvironments.

Modern DevelopmentPractices

  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar tools.

  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analyticalskills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communicationskills.

PreferredQualifications

  • Experience with diagnostic imaging viewers or healthcareapplications.

  • Experience with cloud technologies and modern webarchitectures.

  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 orFHIR.

  • Experience working in regulated softwareenvironments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalentexperience.

  • 5+ years of software developmentexperience.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently deliver complex software features andsolutions.

Compensation


The salary range provided in this job posting is intended to reflect the general market value for the position. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and the specific requirements of the role. This range may also be subject to change as market conditions evolve. We encourage open communication throughout the interview process to discuss compensation expectations. For base-salary + commission sales roles, the range represents On-Target Earnings.

Min – Max :

$123,181.41 - $184,772.11 (CAD)
