Job Summary
This position is located within a unique and highly collaborative care environment. While the role supports a primary care practice, the patient population consists almost exclusively of individuals with behavioral health needs who receive services within a larger behavioral health facility.Unlike a traditional primary care practice where behavioral health services are embedded into a medical setting, this innovative model embeds a small primary care practice within a behavioral health environment. As a result, patients often require additional support, patience, flexibility, and communication skills during their interactions with the practice.
Although patient volume is generally lower than in many primary care settings, staff members tend to have more in-depth interactions with patients and play an important role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with patients who may have complex psychosocial needs and will approach each interaction with empathy, professionalism, and respect.
The practice itself is intentionally small, consisting of three primary care providers and a close-knit care team. The Clinic/Practice Assistant works directly with and reports to the Practice Manager, who is the only other administrative team member within the practice. The two work closely together on a daily basis and share a small office space. Candidates who enjoy a highly collaborative environment and value strong working relationships will be particularly successful in this role.
This setting offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on an underserved patient population while working as part of a dedicated team.
