Position Summary:
- Reporting to the Methods Manager, as part of a major program to build a maintenance center in Toronto, the incumbent will work within a multidisciplinary team in close collaboration with the production, industrial engineering, and health & safety teams.
- This role aims to develop efficient work methods that ensure high quality in the execution of new equipment for the maintenance of our new trains.
- We are looking to establish best work practices and standardize them across different production lines.
- The incumbent will be called upon to intervene and support operations as well as the management team during upcoming changes.
- Develop work instructions for the implementation of our new equipment
- Define work methods to improve quality and execution time of performed tasks
- Participate in solving manufacturing issues in collaboration with suppliers, design engineers, and the production line
- Complete technical and management files in collaboration with various stakeholders (production, engineering, quality, logistics...)
- Research and propose technical and economic solutions to improve workshop performance
- Ensure work methods are safe and comply with health and safety standards
- Participate in mobilizing workshop employees
- College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
- 5 to 10 years of experience in an industrial environment
- ​​​​​​​English (spoken and written)
- French an asset
- Experience in an industrial workshop, ideally in commissioning new machines/tools
- Experience in a unionized environment
- Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Available for occasional travel
- Available to work all shifts occasionally
