SUMMARY:Â Â
The Nursing Supervisor directs, supports, and guides staff on expectations, policies and standard operating procedures, and required training. The Nursing Supervisor maintains rapport throughout the organization with all employees and assists in mediating resolutions when issues arise. The Nursing Supervisor acts as a leader and role model through committee contributions, providing feedback and reviews of performance, problem solving, and ensuring adequate supports are in place for and efficient and positive work environment

- Collaborates with the multi-disciplinary team to support both organizational and patient health safety goals
- Has skills in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with all staff members
- Exhibits caring, empathy, and professionalism when interacting with others along with giving constructive feedback and facilitating crucial conversations
- Has skills in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are rapid changes in the work load, along with the ability to meet deadlines as requested
- Able to handle sensitive materials, maintain confidentiality and discretion as to disposition and/or release of data
- Assists in interviewing and hiring decisions for the nursing department
- Frequently monitors current staff performance, and enhances individual needs as required to meet competancy standards
- Demonstrates expertise in clinical skill set to be utilized on a daily basis as needed
- Able to manage rapid changes in workflow. Has working knowledge in using Microsft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Email
Education, Experience Equivalent to:Â
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate of an approved Licensed Vocational or Registered Nursing program
- Current Certification or Unrestricted license/compact license to practice in the State of Texas
- BLS Certified
- ACLS (preferred but not required)
Skills and Abilities
- Must demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills; Uses analytical skills for troubleshooting and problem solving;
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
 Physical RequirementsÂ
 Able to stand at least 75% of the time;
- Able to sit, walk, carry 50 lbs., push, pull, reach, handle, bend, kneel, crouch;
- Has manual and finger dexterity;
- Able to speak and hear;
- Has near visual acuity;
- Able to speak English fluently; Has color vision and depth perception;
- Has full range of motion in back.
