Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):
Education:
1. Graduate degree(s) in relevant fields (e.g., education, educational leadership, or related interdisciplinary fields). PhD preferred.
2. Strong grounding in research methodologies, particularly in applied and practice-based educational research.
Experience:
1. Expert knowledge of:
Principles and methodologies of critical research inquiry, including secondary and applied research approaches.
Development of research questions, problem statements, and purpose statements grounded in practice-based contexts.
Use of theoretical frameworks and integration of interdisciplinary perspectives in educational research.
Literature and systematic review methodologies, including literature search strategies, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and synthesis of findings.
Qualitative data analysis methods, including thematic analysis and coding.
Ethical considerations in educational research, including responsible use of AI and research integrity.
Knowledge mobilization and translation strategies to connect research with practice and broader audiences.
2. Experience supervising or mentoring undergraduate research projects, capstone work, or applied inquiry projects.
3. Experience supporting students in connecting theory with internship or professional experiences to develop research proposals.
4. Experience facilitating workshop-based, feedback-driven learning environments (e.g., writing labs, peer review, iterative drafting).
5. Experience guiding students through the full research process, from idea generation to development of a comprehensive research plan.
Other:
1. Knowledge of the impact and experience integrating pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity and inclusion.
2. Familiarity using myCourses, Zoom and/or other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences.
3. Familiarity with the application of a variety of digital teaching and learning tools.
4. Familiarity teaching blended classes.
5. Instruction in this course may be delivered remotely if indicated as required by the university.
