Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Scheduler Migration Specialist with strong expertise in IBM Z Workload Scheduler and z/OS environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience migrating batch scheduling products to IBM Z Workload Scheduler, troubleshooting migration issues, analyzing workload reports, and supporting scheduling activities.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience with Mainframe environments, including OS/390 or z/OS
- 5+ years of IBM Z Workload Scheduler experience
- Proficiency with TSO/ISPF editing
- Strong understanding of JCL
- Experience monitoring workloads through ISPF
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Migrate existing batch scheduling products to IBM Z Workload Scheduler
- Analyze and troubleshoot scheduling migration issues
- Monitor workloads using ISPF
- Investigate reports and identify root causes and corrective actions
- Document migration activities, findings, and resolutions
- Collaborate with project managers, internal teams, contractors, and customer teams
- Support scheduling product replacement and migration activities
- Assist with workload automation and scheduling-related issues
Desired Skills
- REXX programming
- Workload Automation Programming Language
- Dynamic Workload Console navigation and installation
- Project Management experience
- Experience with CA-7, CA-ESP, CA/Broadcom Workload Automation, BMC Control-M/R, Jobtrac, ASG Zeke/Zebb, or similar schedulers
Additional / Advantageous Skills
- Experience migrating other mainframe scheduling tools to IBM Z Workload Scheduler
- Basic z/OS system programming knowledge
- Technical pre-sales experience
- Scheduling system administration experience in Windows, UNIX, or Linux environments
