Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Network Administrator to manage, support, and modernize mainframe networking environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in VTAM, NCP, SNA, TCP/IP, CA TPX, and CL/SuperSession, along with hands-on experience in session management, networking migrations, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities

Design, configure, and support mainframe network infrastructure.

Manage VTAM, NCP, SNA, and TCP/IP networking environments.

Configure and administer CA TPX and CL/SuperSession for session routing, security, and user access.

Troubleshoot session-level connectivity and session management issues.

Lead and execute session management and networking tool migrations.

Plan and implement cutover and rollback strategies.

Ensure session continuity and minimize business disruption during migrations.

Coordinate timelines, dependencies, and risk mitigation with internal stakeholders and vendor teams.

Monitor session performance before and after migrations.

Maintain network configurations, procedures, and technical documentation.

Support security, audit, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Provide L2/L3 production support and participate in on-call rotations.

Lead migration activities end-to-end, including testing and validation.
Required Skills
-
8+ years of hands-on Mainframe Networking experience.

Strong expertise in SNA and TCP/IP protocols.
-
Hands-on experience with CA TPX and CL/SuperSession.
-
CA TPX/CL/SuperSession configuration, administration, session routing, and troubleshooting.

Experience with session management tool and network software migrations.

Strong knowledge of VTAM, NCP, and Communications Server for z/OS.

Experience with session continuity, cutover, and rollback planning.

Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.

Ability to lead migrations from planning through implementation and validation.
Desired Skills

Strong knowledge of z/OS and related mainframe environments.

Experience migrating to CL/SuperSession from other platforms.

Network security and compliance knowledge.

Experience handling CA TPX and CL/SuperSession in large enterprise environments.
