About the role

As a Data Scientist, your primary responsibility will be to take a leading role in enhancing our risk and pricing models and production processes, directly impacting both our customers and our business. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: 

• Work with innovative methods in statistical modelling and machine learning. 

• Analyze large volumes of data and explore new data sources.  

• Work in our modern analytics platform with end-to-end ownership of the data science process. 

• Develop, implement, and monitor improvements in an efficient and iterative manner. 

• Strengthen Nordic collaboration within If’s Nordic analytics community and our sister company Hastings in the UK.

About the team

Our team is responsible for improving pricing for our Swedish personal lines portfolio, covering approximately 1.8 million customers. You will be part of a caring, creative, and high-performing team with a strong passion for data, analytics, and modelling. The team is part of an experienced and growing Nordic pricing & analytics organization.

You have a strong interest in technology, analytics, and data, and can communicate complex insights in a way that resonates with a broad audience. You bring curiosity, creativity, and initiative to your work, and thrive on tackling challenging problems. With a structured and dependable approach, you take ownership of your work and continually seek opportunities to learn and improve.  

To succeed in this role, we believe you: 

• Hold a Master's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) 

• Have work experience from data science, machine learning engineering, or actuarial science 

• Have programming experience in SQL and Python 

• Are fluent in both Swedish and English 

• Have professional proficiency in both English and Swedish
