Senior Writer

LSI is seeking a Senior Writer to support grant, proposal, and client program development efforts across a diverse portfolio of engagements. This role is responsible for researching opportunities, developing clear and compelling written content, coordinating inputs from internal and external stakeholders, and supporting the successful delivery of grant and proposal activities. The Senior Writer will work closely with Program Managers and subject matter experts, may occasionally serve as the Project Manager for small- to medium-sized engagements, and will help identify and evaluate funding opportunities aligned with client priorities.

Job Responsibilities

• Create and deliver world-class creative concepts, content, and storytelling for the company and/or clients.
• Make smart connections between cultural, social, and design trends and what we can achieve through storytelling within. • Continuously present to key stakeholders to gain input and feedback throughout the content development or campaign lifecycle.
• Collaborate with team members to develop strategies and ideas that support the execution of writing concepts and projects • Inspire confidence among cross-functional. teams, earning trust to push the brand in even more bold creative directions.
• Develop new ideas for new areas of focus, emphasis, growth, or thought leadership.
• Provide recommendations on creative collaborators as needed for content and projects.
• Promote a positive creative culture through teamwork and leading by example.
• Balance multiple projects, often with tight deadlines. • Assist and mentor junior writers
• Occasionally serve as the Project Manager for small- to medium-sized client engagements, coordinating schedules, deliverables, client communications, internal resources, and project activities to support successful execution.
• Research and identify federal, state, local, foundation, and other funding opportunities that align with assigned client priorities and support the development of each client’s funding opportunity pipeline.
• Review and evaluate potential funding opportunities for assigned engagements, including eligibility, alignment with client objectives, key requirements, deadlines, and overall fit, and provide recommendations to the appropriate Program Manager and/or client team. Required Skills/Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications or Journalism or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Six plus years of relevant experience in copywriting, grants and/or proposal writing.
• Driven, able to adapt and grow in a fast-paced environment Travel Requirements This position may require periodic domestic travel for client meetings, program kickoffs, stakeholder workshops, site visits, program reviews, and other client or program activities. Travel frequency will vary based on assignment and client needs.
