Looker BI and Data warehousing Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Work extensively with Looker and LookML, including Explores, joins, correct join relationships, fanout awareness, symmetric aggregates, derived tables, persistent derived tables, aggregate awareness, Liquid parameterization, user attributes, access filters, datagroups, caching policies, and the Looker API.
• Own and manage a Looker instance as a governed enterprise asset, beyond dashboard development.
• Define and manage Git workflows, model release processes, and access model design within Looker.
• Design and develop effective dashboards and visualizations with strong design reasoning.
• Review and critique dashboards and provide clear recommendations on what should be changed and why.
• Drive and support semantic-layer migrations while ensuring metric values remain identical.
• Work with at least one additional enterprise BI platform such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or a comparable tool.

Required Skills

• Deep hands-on experience with Looker and LookML.
• Strong understanding of Looker Explores, joins, fanout awareness, and symmetric aggregates.
• Experience with derived tables, persistent derived tables, and aggregate awareness.
• Knowledge of Liquid parameterization, user attributes, and access filters.
• Experience with datagroups, caching policies, and Looker API.
• Experience owning and governing an enterprise Looker instance.
• Strong experience with Git workflows, model releases, and access model design.
• Strong dashboard and visualization skills with defensible design reasoning.
• Experience with semantic-layer migration while maintaining consistent metric values.
• Working knowledge of at least one other enterprise BI tool such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or comparable platforms.
