Job Description

Job Title: Data Science Lead

Role Summary

Experienced Data Science Lead with 10+ years of experience in Data Science and 2+ years in AI/Generative AI, specializing in building and delivering scalable AI/ML solutions. Strong expertise in machine learning, advanced RAG techniques, and LLM-based systems, combined with proven ability to own end-to-end delivery, drive AI strategy, and align solutions with business objectives. Adept at leading cross-functional teams, managing stakeholders, and ensuring high-quality, production-ready outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Data Science & AI Development

• PerformExploratory Data Analysis (EDA) to uncover insights, patterns, and data quality issues.
• Leaddata understandingacross structured and unstructured datasets.
• Apply strongstatistical and mathematical foundations to solve complex business problems.
• Design, build, and optimizemachine learning models for predictive and prescriptive analytics.
• Lead implementation ofAdvanced RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines, optimizing performance, accuracy, and cost.
• Architect and orchestrateLLM-based solutions, including prompt design, chaining, and tool integration.
• Implement robustprompt engineering strategies across multiple use cases.
• Work withLLM ecosystems and API architectures, integrating third-party and open-source models.
• Ensure solutions areproduction-ready, scalable, and continuously improved based on performance and feedback.

Technical Expertise

• Demonstrate strong proficiency inPython and relevant data science libraries.
• Good knowledge onDatabricks for end-to-end AI/ML solution development, including data processing, modeling, and deployment.
• Apply knowledge ofLLM orchestration frameworks and scalable AI system design.
• Design and collaborate onAPI-based architectures to integrate AI/ML solutions into enterprise applications.
• Work closely with application and engineering teams to ensureseamless system integration.

Leadership, Strategy & Delivery Ownership

• Own and drive end-to-end delivery of data science and AI solutions, from problem definition to production deployment.
• Translate business requirements intoscalable and impactful AI solutions aligned with organizational goals.
• Contribute to and help shape theAI strategy and roadmap.
• Providetechnical leadership and guidance to data science teams, ensuring best practices and high-quality deliverables.
• Act as theprimary point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and expectation of management.
• Leadcross-functional collaboration across business, engineering, and data teams.
• Define, plan, and managedelivery timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
• Ensureon-time and within-scope of delivery of all projects with strong accountability.
• Drivecontinuous improvement and innovation, leveraging research, and emerging AI techniques.
• Plan, track, and manage work items usingADO (Azure DevOps) or similar tools.
• Leadagile execution, including sprint planning, backlog management, and progress tracking.

Core skills Required

• Generative AI fundamentals: understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, embeddings, tokenization, context windows
• RAG architecture: designing and implementing retrieval-augmented generation pipelines
• Vector databases: experience with similarity search, chunking, indexing, and retrieval optimization
• LLM integration: using APIs and frameworks to connect models into applications
• Prompt design and optimization: crafting prompts for accuracy, grounding, and structured outputs
• Evaluation and testing: measuring answer quality, relevance, hallucination rate, and retrieval performance
• Data preprocessing: document cleaning, chunking strategies, metadata enrichment
• Model selection and deployment: choosing suitable foundation models and deploying them securely
• Security and governance: handling sensitive data, access control, compliance, and responsible AI practices
• Monitoring and tuning: logging, feedback loops, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement
