About the Role
Our client is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to join their team and provide support to lawyers across several practice areas, including commercial litigation, personal injury, and employment law.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Legal Administrative Assistant looking to continue developing their skills within an established and supportive law firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing files, coordinating deadlines, preparing legal documentation, and providing day to day administrative and litigation support.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, revise, and format court documents, correspondence, and other file related materials.
Prepare chambers records, application materials, and trial preparation binders.
Coordinate the filing and service of pleadings through the appropriate courts.
Schedule and coordinate hearings, examinations for discovery, and other court related proceedings.
Maintain an effective bring forward system and monitor key deadlines.
Manage lawyer calendars, meetings, hearings, and travel arrangements.
Conduct conflict searches and assist with client intake.
Prepare and manage client billing, invoicing, accounts receivable, and expense tracking.
Open, maintain, and close files in accordance with firm procedures.
Provide additional administrative and litigation support to the broader legal team as required.

- $50,000 to $65,000 annual salary, depending on experience.

What You Bring
- 2+ years of experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant, ideally within litigation and/or labour and employment.
- Completion of an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program.
- Strong understanding of BC court procedures and legal document management.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading abilities.
- Ability to proactively follow up on files, deadlines, and outstanding items with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Unity Accounting and NetDocuments is considered an asset.
