2nd Shift: 2:45 pm - 1:30 am (10 hours) Monday - Thursday. Required OT on Fridays. 10%

How Will You Make an Impact?:
Serves as a fully proficient senior packaging technician who independently performs a broad range of packaging and labeling activities. Applies strong technical, cGMP, and documentation knowledge; uses judgment to resolve routine operational issues within established procedures; and serves as a technical resource and mentor to less-experienced technicians. This role does not have primary accountability for directing or owning a production room. 

Core Responsibilities 

  • Independently perform a broad range of manual and automated assembly, filling, packaging, labeling, and inspection activities across qualified work types. 

  • Independently interpret routine batch records, work instructions, drawings, and assembly instructions andidentify discrepancies requiring correction or escalation. 

  • Perform and supportcomponent accountability, reconciliation, in-process inspections, and verification activities withinqualification scope. 

  • Operate multiple qualified packaging processes and equipment; perform routine troubleshooting anddetermine when escalation to Room Leadership, Quality, Engineering, or supervision isrequired. 

  • Recognize quality or documentation risks and takeappropriate action within established SOPs to prevent or correct routine errors. 

  • Serve as a technical resource for Packaging/Labeling Technician II colleagues and provide on-the-job coaching, mentoring, and task-specific training when qualified to do so. 

  • Support Room Leaders with complex job preparation, troubleshooting, training, and continuity of operations without assuming primary room ownership. 

  • Participate in PPI/continuous-improvement activities and contribute practical ideas that improve safety, quality, efficiency, and right-first-time execution. 

  • Model cGMP, safety, documentation, teamwork, and Thermo Fisher values in day-to-day work. 



Education:

High school diploma or GEDrequired. 


Experience
Required: Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting or related field
Experience in a cGMP environment
Experience working in a clean room environment

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Substantial understanding of packaging/labeling methods, cGMP requirements, SOPs, batch documentation, andcomponent accountability. 

  • Demonstratedproficiency across multiple packaging processes, equipment types, or work types relevant to the area. 

  • Ability to work independently and use judgment to resolve routine operational issues within established procedures. 

  • Ability toidentify defects, documentation concerns, and process discrepancies and determineappropriate correction or escalation. 

  • Demonstrated ability to coach, train, or mentor less-experienced employees whilemaintaining a collaborative approach. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication, computer, mathematical, troubleshooting, and teamwork skills. 


Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Ability to work in cleanrooms, cold rooms, and controlled environments ranging from -2 C to 8 C, asrequired. 

  • Ability to stand andwalk for extended periods and perform repetitive hand and finger movementsrequired for packaging operations. 

  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds as required by the work assignment. 

  • Ability to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, grasp, and perform fine manipulation asrequired. 

  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which may include filtering face masks, N95 masks, half-face masks, protective eyewear, and other site-required PPE. 

  • Must meet applicable visual acuity and color-vision requirements for inspection of pharmaceutical products, components, and labels in a cGMP environment. 

  • Flexibility to work assigned shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
