Overview: A Software Engineer at Lingraphica develops and maintains software that powers speech-generating devices and related services for people with communication challenges. Working within a cross-functional Innovation team, this role partners with product, design, and engineering to deliver high-quality, user-centered solutions that improve communication outcomes. This position contributes across the full software lifecycle, from development through production support.Â
Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops, tests, and maintains software for speech-generating devices and applicationsÂ
- Collaborates with cross-functional partners to deliver user-centered solutionsÂ
- Writes clean, efficient, and well-documented codeÂ
- Participates in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting across the technology stackÂ
- Contributes to automated and manual testing to ensure product qualityÂ
- Supports production systems through bug fixes and performance improvementsÂ
- Participates in Agile team ceremonies and continuous improvement effortsÂ
- Enhances internal tools, infrastructure, and engineering processes (e.g., CI/CD, documentation)Â
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experienceÂ
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experienceÂ
- Proficiency with Unity and C#Â
- Experience developing and consuming REST APIs (Node.js or similar)Â
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and GitHubÂ
- Experience working in the Agile or Scrum environmentsÂ
- Ability and willingness to travel within the U.S. up to 2 times per year for team and company meetingsÂ
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Vercel)Â
- Experience with React Native for mobile app developmentÂ
- Familiarity with Generative AI, LLMs and AI APIsÂ
- Experience with Python, PostgreSQL, Firebase, or similar technologiesÂ
- Knowledge of testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practicesÂ
- Exposure to machine learning concepts or developmentÂ
- Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)Â
- Understanding of relational and NoSQL database designÂ
Work Environment & Physical Demands Â

Travel Â
Travel (by air) is required for the annual company meeting and team off-site, within the continental United States, approximately twice per year.    Â

At Lingraphica, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The starting salary range for this position is $84,000 and $97,400 per year. Placement in the starting pay is based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
