The Lethbridge Police Service is currently accepting applications fora term-relief position as a Police Records Integrity Technician - Court Liaison & Disclosure inthe Records Management Section. The position will perform a variety of Court liaison administrative work in support of sworn members including processing files of a confidential and sensitive nature, entry of police and court data into appropriate Records Management Systems, and processing court packages and correspondences.

 

 

Hours:                  37.5 hours per week

 Wage:                 $39.36/hour



As the Police Administrative Support – Court Liaison and Disclosure you will:

  • Review police files for court appearances, processing court documents ensuring all pertinent information is included
  • Provide Court Liaison functions onsite and at the Court House, including but not limited to scheduling court appearances and facilitating document exchange with appropriate stakeholders
  • Responsible for preparing files for Crown Disclosure
  • Act as a liaison between LPS, the Crown and the Court House
  • Review memos received from the Crown Prosecutor and effecting responses
  • Responsible for creating all required Informations for Court (PCA Submissions, Replacement, and No Process Information)
  • Ensure Media Disclosures are forwarded to the Crown offices • Assist Courthouse to schedule trial dates via phone for LPS Members
  • Responsible for creating all required information for Court or JIR hearings
  • Attendance at Court to schedule trial dates for LPS members
  • Ensure all time-sensitive court packages are completed on shift
  • Ensure process documents (APN and UND are emailed to Court house for Executed Warrants)
  • Fax Swearing of Informations completed via email to the Courthouse
  • Swearing of information before a Justice of the Peace

 

As the successful candidate you will have:

  • You must possess a working knowledge of office policies and procedures, including computer systems and software including but not limited to Niche, CPIC, and JOIN
  • Ability to operate relevant office equipment and enter data rapidly and accurately
  • Ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with the public and stakeholders
  • A high school education, including or supplemented by courses in computer software and at least one year related experience is required, or an equivalent combination thereof.

 

The successful candidate is required to consent to a police security clearance, which includes the voluntary completion and submission of a personal disclosure form (lifestyle questionnaire), criminal and police records check, reference checks and truth verification through polygraph examination.



STEPS OF HIRING PROCESS

  2. Selected applicants will be contacted to complete a Personal Disclosure Form and Security Clearance Declaration (applicable to applicants outside of LPS)
  3. Competitive applicants will be contacted for a Behavioral Descriptive Interview
  4. Security Clearance Check will be conducted (applicable to applicants outside LPS)
  5. Completion of a satisfactory police fingerprinting check (applicable to applicants outside LPS)
  6. Successful completion of a Polygraph Examination Procedure (applicable to applicants outside LPS)
  7. Reference verification of a minimum of three professional references (applicable to applicants outside LPS)
  8. A successful candidate(s) will be selected and offered the position
  9. All components of the selection process will be administered, scored, evaluated and interpreted in a fair and uniform manner
  10. Duration of the hiring process may take approximately two months

Further, LPS facility dogs support the emotionalneedsof victim’s and or witnesses through the Criminal Justice Process. A Facility Dog is directed by a professional with specialized expertise. Facility dogs frequent many areas of our building. In addition, we have police service dogs. Our police service dogs have minimal interaction with employees on site under the supervision of a trained handler.

Work Location

LPS employees are required to carry-out their assigned duties in-person at a Lethbridge Police Service facility. Our Lethbridge Police Service Headquarters are located at 135 1st Avenue South Lethbridge, AB T1J 0A1**
