Lead I - Software Engineering

About The Job:

• We are seeking an experienced Senior Front-End & API Developer (T3) with strong expertise in modern web application development, API engineering, cloud-native platforms, and AI-enabled solutions.
• The ideal candidate will combine advanced Front-End development skills with backend API engineering capabilities to build scalable, secure, and enterprise-grade applications.
• This role requires hands-on expertise in React, TypeScript, Python, GitHub Copilot, FastAPI/Django/Flask, cloud platforms, API integrations, and AI-powered applications.
• The candidate will work closely with Product, Engineering, Security, and Platform teams to deliver innovative solutions that support enterprise business and operational processes.

Essential Job Functions:
Front-End Software Development

• Design, develop, test, and maintain secure, responsive, and modular web applications using modern JavaScript and TypeScript frameworks.
• Build reusable UI components, workflow-driven forms, dashboards, status views, and task-execution experiences.
• Translate business and operational requirements into Clientive user journeys with validation, approval, recovery, and progress-tracking capabilities.
• Implement accessibility, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility standards.
• Optimize client-side performance through efficient state management, caching, code splitting, telemetry, and monitoring.
• Develop and maintain enterprise-grade applications using React and modern frontend development practices.

API Development & Enterprise Integration

• Design and develop secure RESTful APIs and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) services using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Create API wrappers and orchestration services that execute CI/CD pipelines, automation jobs, runbooks, and operational workflows.
• Integrate enterprise applications with cloud platforms, identity services, ticketing systems, automation tools, and internal APIs.
• Implement asynchronous execution patterns including callbacks, polling, webhooks, background workers, and real-time status updates.
• Define OpenAPI specifications, API versioning, validation standards, error handling, idempotency controls, and integration documentation.
• Collaborate with backend engineering teams to define service boundaries, contracts, security requirements, and integration standards.

AI, Generative AI & Agent Integration

• Integrate enterprise-approved AI agents, copilots, and intelligent workflow capabilities into business applications.
• Develop secure interfaces and APIs supporting agent tool calling, streamed responses, feedback management, citations, and human approval workflows.
• Implement permission-aware context controls, prompt injection protections, data security controls, and user confirmation mechanisms.
• Monitor AI interactions for quality, performance, observability, cost optimization, traceability, and user satisfaction.
• Leverage GitHub Copilot and modern AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software delivery while ensuring quality and security standards.

Security, Quality & Reliability

• Implement enterprise authentication and authorization using SSO, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
• Protect applications against XSS, CSRF, injection attacks, insecure dependencies, and secrets exposure.
• Develop automated unit, component, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing frameworks.
• Implement logging, distributed tracing, application telemetry, monitoring dashboards, and error management capabilities.
• Participate in threat modeling, code reviews, architecture reviews, incident investigations, and continuous improvement activities.

DevOps & Agile Delivery

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or equivalent DevOps tools.
• Deploy applications using cloud-native services, containers, and Infrastructure-as-Code approaches.
• Break requirements into user stories, technical work items, testing activities, and acceptance criteria.
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
• Support production applications through monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response, and iterative improvements.

Mandatory Skills

• GitHub Copilot.
• Python.
• React.js.
• TypeScript.

Required Technical Skills

Front-End Engineering

• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Strong expertise in React.
• Experience with Next.js, Angular, or similar frontend frameworks.
• Strong understanding of component architecture, routing, state management, form handling, and design systems.
• Experience with accessible web development aligned with WCAG standards.
• Hands-on experience with Jest, Vitest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Knowledge of browser performance tuning, web security, and client-side observability.

API & Integration Engineering

• Strong hands-on experience with Python and API development using FastAPI, Django REST Framework, or Flask.
• Expertise in REST APIs, JSON, OpenAPI specifications, authentication, authorization, pagination, caching, and API security.
• Experience with event-driven architectures, queues, webhooks, asynchronous services, background workers, and serverless functions.
• Experience consuming and integrating multiple enterprise APIs and data sources.

Cloud, AI & Engineering Platforms

• Hands-on development experience with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
• Experience with application hosting, API management, identity services, monitoring, serverless platforms, and secrets management.
• Experience integrating LLMs, AI agents, function-calling capabilities, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) solutions.
• Working knowledge of containers, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, and software supply-chain security.
• Hands-on use of GitHub Copilot for coding, testing, refactoring, and documentation.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
• Microsoft Azure Developer Associate, AWS Developer, or equivalent cloud certification is preferred.
• Relevant certifications in React, TypeScript, Python, Secure Development, Accessibility, or AI Engineering are advantageous.
