Lazer Commerce is a specialized team within Lazer focused on crafting scalable, high-performing commerce experiences across the Shopify ecosystem. We partner with forward-thinking brands and agencies to design and implement custom storefronts, headless architectures, and robust backend integrations. From theme development to complex ERP and OMS workflows, our engineers bring deep expertise in Shopify, modern frameworks, and commerce infrastructure to help clients launch, scale, and optimize their digital retail experiences.

The Role

We’re looking for aProduct Manager to help shape, define, and deliver large-scale Shopify commerce experiences for leading brands.
In this role, you’ll bridge the gap between strategy, delivery, and technology — translating discovery insights into actionable roadmaps and ensuring every project delivers measurable value.

Please Note:This is aContract position (hourly rate). We welcome applications from across the globe, but our preferred candidates should be able to have a meaningful overlap withEastern Standard Timezone (EST).


Who You Are

  • You have 3+ years of experience inProduct Management or similar roles (Business Analyst, Product Owner), ideally within abrand, agency, or consultancy environment.

  • You have a proven track record ofdelivering large-scale digital commerce projects, including platform migrations from legacy systems likeSFCC, Magento, or Hybris to modern SaaS ecosystems.

  • You’re deeply familiar withShopify Plus and the broader commerce technology stack — fromERP and OMS toPIM, CRM, CDP, and payments.

  • You thrive inenterprise stakeholder environments, collaborating confidently with C-suite, product, and engineering teams.

  • You’re fluent inagile delivery practices (Scrum, SAFe) anddiscovery frameworks, with a structured yet flexible mindset.

  • You’re an exceptional communicator and facilitator who can bring clarity, alignment, and focus to complex, multi-stakeholder projects.

  • You combinetechnical literacy (APIs, integrations, architecture fundamentals) with strongcommercial acumen, always focused on ROI and client value.

  • You’re analytical and detail-oriented, comfortable defining and tracking KPIs that measure success and impact.

  • You’re adaptable and thrive in ambiguity — driving clarity, protecting scope, and helping teams deliver meaningful results.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience supportingmulti-market or international merchants.

  • Familiarity withCRO, experimentation, and analytics tools.

  • Experience building or scaling aproduct management practice within an agency.

What You'll Do

Discovery & Scope Definition

  • Lead client discovery sessions post-sale to understand business goals, customer journeys, and operational processes.

  • Partner withTechnical Architects, Solutions Engineers, and Delivery Managers to define clear project scope and alignment.

  • Translate discovery findings into aproduct vision, measurable objectives, and an agreed scope baseline.

  • Support decision-making aroundchange requests, scope variations, and timeline impacts, balancing commercial, technical, and client needs.

Backlog & Roadmap Management

  • Build and maintain astructured product backlog — defining epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria with clarity and priority.

  • Facilitate trade-off discussions withclient and internal teams, ensuring alignment with scope and outcomes.

  • Own theroadmap and prioritization process for migrations, new builds, and optimization projects.

Collaboration & Execution

  • Work closely withDelivery Managers, Technical Architects, and Engineers to ensure delivery aligns with defined goals.

  • Provide continuous product context during sprints,removing ambiguity and safeguarding scope boundaries.

  • SupportUAT and client enablement before and after releases.

Value Realization & Optimization

  • Focus on KPIs tied toconversion, AOV, retention, scalability, and operational efficiency.

  • Review delivered functionality with clients, recommendingiterative improvements while maintaining scope discipline.

  • Act as astrategic product partner, driving growth and long-term value for enterprise Shopify clients.

Agency & Practice Building

  • Help establishProduct Management as a discipline within the agency — building frameworks for discovery, documentation, and delivery.

  • Mentor peers inproduct-led, scope-driven thinking across teams.

  • Contribute toagency thought leadership, developing case studies and best practices for enterprise commerce.
