The Urban Renewal Authority (“URA”) is tasked to undertake, encourage, promote and facilitate urban renewal of Hong Kong in accordance with the provisions of the Urban Renewal Authority Ordinance and the Urban Renewal Strategy published by the Government.  The URA adopts a comprehensive and holistic approach by ways of its two core businesses i.e. redevelopment and rehabilitation, as well as preservation, revitalisation and retrofitting, for creating a sustainable and quality living environment for the people of Hong Kong.  

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the formulation of placemaking strategies. Assist in identifying opportunities and translating strategic directions into actionable project plans with clear scope, timeline, and resources

  • Manage the full-cycle implementation of placemaking programmes and the performance of partners, vendors, and operators while maintaining good relationships

  • Coordinate daily operations and programming of community spaces. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful execution of events and activations

  • Contribute to collaborative programmes that connect the Authority's assets with the community through original concepts

  • Ensure governance and compliance across placemaking initiatives. Assist in procurement, contracting, and accurate financial administration

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors

Requirements:

  • Degree holder in Urban Studies, Placemaking, Business, Marketing, Event Management, Arts & Culture, Heritage, or relevant disciplines

  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in placemaking, public space activation, event management, or project management

  • Proven track record in project execution, including contract management, vendor coordination, on-site implementation, and budget tracking

  • Extensive professional network with NGOs, community organisations, art and cultural groups, vendors, contractors, event agencies, as well as designers and creative practitioners is preferred

  • Knowledge of event management, public programming, and current cultural/technology trends; literacy in generative AI tools is preferred

  • Highly organised, creative, and a collaborative team player with strong communication and presentation skills

  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua)
