Position Summary:Â Â
We areseeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer.TheCivil Engineeris responsible for
site design, specializing in stormwater drainage, site grading, utility design, and administering local agency reviews.The position will collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and other engineers to deliver high-qualitycivil designs fromtheschematic design (SD) phase through construction administration (CA). This role requires technicalexpertise incivil site design for commercial sites, including K-12 education sites, to ensure compliance with state of Michigan site designcodes and standards.
This remote position requires the individual to live in the state of Michigan with the ability to regularly travel throughout the state to client sites.Â

Â
Essential Responsibilities:Â
Â
- Develop and manage site designs, including stormwater drainage systems, site grading plans, and utility layouts.
Â
- Prepare and review detailed engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
Â
- Coordinate and communicate with local agencies to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and tofacilitate project approvals.
Â
- Perform site analyses, including grading, hydrology, and stormwater management studies.
Â
- Lead the preparation and submission of permit applications and other regulatory documentation.
Â
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, planners, and contractors, to ensure seamless project delivery.
Â
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverables tomaintain alignment with client expectations and organizational goals.
Â
- Stay informed on industry standards to implement best practices in site design.Â
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff as needed.
Â
- Provide technical support during the construction phase, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and conducting site visits as needed.Â
- Verifyconstructionaligns with design intent and specifications.Â
Education & Experience:Â
- Bachelorâs degree in Civil Engineering,required.Â
- Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE)Â
- Minimum 6 years of prior professional experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on site design.Â
- Proficiency in administering local agency reviews and navigating regulatory processes.Â

- Excellentcommunication, both verbal and written,skills; including active listening skills, to effectively interact with clients, agencies, and team members.Â
- Proficient incivil design software, including AutoCAD -
Civil 3D. Â
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Â
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including attention todetail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.Â
- Ability tomanage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced andcollaborative team environment.Â
- Regular site visitsrequired throughoutproject design process; must have the ability to travel between 10 â 25% of the time for project needs;possibly including overnight stays.Â
- This position requires candidates to live in the state of Michigan with flexibility to work from home and near one of our four (4) offices. This position also requires the ability to travel to client sites across the state.Â
Preferred Qualifications:
Â
- Familiarity with sustainable design practices andSITES certification processes.
Â
- Experience inLand F/X, and other relevant designsoftware; preferred.Â
- Experience with hydrology and hydraulic modeling software; preferredÂ
- Masterâs degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
