Behind that promise stands modern engineering, and behind our engineers stands Engineering Excellence: a DevOps-oriented enablement team whose product is the capability of every other squad. We are now looking for a DevOps Engineer who wants to build shared platforms, coach fellow engineers, and shape safe, human-approved agentic AI ways of working. 

About the role

This is not a feature-delivery seat, it is a multiplier role. Instead of shipping one product, you make many squads better at shipping theirs, and your definition of done includes adoption: work is finished when another team can use, own and support it. 

Day to day, you will: 

• Build and evolve our shared engineering backbone: reusable CI/CD pipelines and pipeline libraries, repository practices, platform tooling, integrations and automation on Azure and Azure DevOps. 
• Establish and enable engineering standards, guardrails, and branching and naming conventions that make the right way the easy way. 
• Strengthen quality and security: validation and testing enablement, software scanning, secure-engineering practice, reliability, and actionable engineering feedback. 
• Untangle material cross-squad blockers in builds, environments, delivery and platform, making dependencies visible and handing over responsibly. 
• Coach engineers and squads, support onboarding, and turn hard-won knowledge into documentation people actually use. 
• Use engineering metrics, discovery and evidence to guide continuous improvement, without overstating what the data proves. 

You will also be hands-on in our agentic engineering journey. We are building an AI-assisted operating model for the team that starts deliberately read-only and follows a strict loop: agents observe and propose, humans approve, and only then are changes applied. You will help design these proposal-controlled workflows, the guardrails and least-privilege access behind them, and the evidence that shows what AI adoption genuinely improves. 

You will work across every squad rather than inside one, side by side with architects, squad technical leads, Product Management and program stakeholders. It is a rare vantage point that grows your platform depth and your influence at the same time. The team runs on Kanban flow rather than sprints: demand is clarified, work is made ready, delivered, validated, documented and handed over, with blockers made visible instead of hidden.

Engineering Excellence is six engineers with one shared conviction: great enablement means the job is not done until someone else can use, own and support the outcome. Who are you? 

You are an enabler at heart, you get real energy from making other engineers faster, safer and more confident. You communicate clearly and coach as naturally as you commit code. You are curious and evidence-driven: you would rather measure than assume, and you separate facts from interpretation. When dependencies tangle and priorities shift, you stay calm, make the situation visible, and keep the flow moving. You treat documentation and handover as part of the craft rather than an afterthought. And whenever automation or AI touches real systems, you exercise sound judgement about access, privacy, least privilege and human approval. 

You also have: 

• Practical experience in DevOps, platform engineering, developer productivity or engineering enablement 
• Hands-on skills in CI/CD, Git, repository management, automation and pipeline engineering 
• Experience with Azure and/or Azure DevOps 
• A track record of improving quality, testing, security scanning, reliability or engineering standards 
• Comfort working in a flow-based / Kanban way, with dependencies, blockers and explicit handover 

It’s a plus if you also bring:  

• Development experience in .NET, Java, Kotlin or TypeScript, or full-stack curiosity 
• Experience with agentic or AI-assisted development, and with measuring its adoption responsibly 
• Work with DORA or other engineering metrics, discovery or maturity assessments 
• Experience building pipeline libraries, reusable templates or repository governance at scale
