About the Role  

We are seeking a Max-term (12 months ) Full time (38h/week) Internal Communications Advisor, Location – Territorial Support Office (TSO) Blackburn, Victoria,tasked with providing a  exceptional, customer focused service to drive excellence and performance.  

Purpose of the Role  

The Internal Communications Advisor will support the Executive Manager, Change and Internal Communications, you will play a key role in delivering strategic internal communications that engage employees, support organisational priorities, and strengthen connection across The Salvation Army. 

This role is ideal for a communications professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, translating complex information into clear and engaging messaging, and helping teams achieve their objectives through effective communication. 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:   

 The Internal Communications Advisor is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating internal communication strategies, plans and initiatives that support organisational priorities and enhance employee engagement. Working collaboratively across a diverse portfolio of stakeholders, the role provides trusted communications advice and support, 

The Internal Communications Advisor contributes to the delivery and continuous improvement of internal communications across the organisation by: 

• Implementing TSA’s Internal Communications Strategy to support organisational priorities and objectives.  

• Developing and delivering targeted internal communication plans, campaigns and channels.  

• Partnering with stakeholders to provide strategic internal communications advice and support.  

• Managing and enhancing internal communication channels to improve employee experience and information accessibility. 

• Creating high-quality communication content, including newsletters, leader messages, operational updates, fact sheets and infographics.  

• Ensuringall communications align with brand standards, governance requirements and communication protocols.  

• Identifying and mitigating communication risks while continuously enhancing channels, processes and employee engagement. 

Skills Required:  

• Minimum 3 years’ communications experience in internal communications, corporate communications or a related field. 

• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing communication strategies, plans and campaigns. 

• Exceptional written communication, editing and storytelling skills. 

• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities 

• Experience working in complex organisations and partnering with multiple teams and stakeholders. 

• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within deadlines. 

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret communication metrics and provide actionable insights. 

• Experience working with employee communication platforms, such as Staffbase, Microsoft SharePoint or similar platforms, highly regarded. 

Qualifications 

• Tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related discipline.
