A postdoctoral position is available immediately for a highly-motivated, enthusiastic individual in Dr. Kalyani Pyaram’s laboratory at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC), located in Kansas City, Kansas. Pyaram lab investigates the molecular and metabolic mechanisms of effector responses of T lymphocytes and their role in inflammation and tumor responses. This project involves identifying the metabolic factors that shape T-cell immune responses using molecular biology, immunology, cell culture techniques and animal models.Job Description:
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Perform research with undergraduate/graduate trainees and research staff.
Contribute to the design of experiments, data acquisition, data analysis and interpretation, prepare manuscripts, mentor junior researchers and work independently.
Experience in cellular/molecular immunology, flow cytometry or mouse models of inflammation/cancer.

Required Qualifications:
PhD in immunology, biochemistry or a related field.
Experience with standard molecular biology techniques

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience and/or working knowledge of Flow cytometry.
Experience in mouse handling and mouse models
Experience in molecular or cellular immunology

The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.Â
