Backend Developer (Laravel & AWS)

Position Title: Backend Developer (Laravel, MySQL, REST APIs, AWS)
(Important) Work Arrangements: Remote (Starts Part-Time for 1–2 months, transitions to Full-Time upon passing performance period)
Work Schedule: AU Time Zone

Job Summary

We are looking for ahighly driven and ambitious Backend Developer with strong expertise inLaravel, MySQL, and API development. This role is ideal for someone with a deep passion for technology, a strong work ethic, and a proven track record in building scalable web applications.

You will play a critical role in developing and optimizing backend systems, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous growth and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintainscalable backend systems and APIs.
• Build and optimizeRESTful APIs and ensure proper documentation using tools like Postman.
• Develop backend solutions usingLaravel (v8 or later) and manage database performance.
• OptimizeSQL queries, database schemas, and system performance.
• Integrate third-party services such asStripe API.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code, includingunit tests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams followingAgile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve backend issues efficiently.
• Support deployment and server setup usingDigitalOcean or AWS.

Experience Requirements

• Strong track record inIT or software development, with experience in web or mobile applications.
• Demonstrates ahigh level of drive, ambition, and work ethic, with a continuous desire to improve.
• Proven ability to take ownership and deliver high-quality outputs.
• Experience as aDeveloper, Engineer, or Product Manager is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity withAgile software development methodologies.

Technical Skills

Backend (Core):

• Strong experience withLaravel (v8 or later) and the Laravel ecosystem.
• Solid understanding ofSQL schema design andSOLID principles.
• Experience withMySQL optimization and performance profiling.
• Strong knowledge ofscalable architecture and backend design patterns.
• Experience developing and documentingRESTful APIs using Postman.
• Familiarity withserver setup and deployment (DigitalOcean, AWS).

General:

• Proficient inGit for version control and collaboration.
• Experience writingunit tests and building testable, maintainable code.
• Hands-on experience withStripe API and documentation.
• Familiarity withNuxt.js and frontend-backend integration.
