Hostess

The Hostess is responsible for creating a warm and welcoming first impression by greeting and seating guests, managing restaurant reservations, and ensuring an organized flow of service. The role requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their assigned tables

• Manage restaurant reservations, cancellations, table assignments, and special requests

• Maintain accurate knowledge of restaurant layouts, operating hours, menus, promotions, and hotel services

• Answer telephone enquiries professionally and according to service standards

• Monitor guest flow and organize waiting lists during busy periods

• Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly to enquiries, and assist with resolving concerns

• Conduct table visits and coordinate with the team to ensure guest satisfaction

• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-presented hostess desk and dining area

• Support menu preparation, cashiering procedures, and restaurant operations when required

• Work closely with colleagues to deliver friendly, efficient, and professional service

• Minimum of 1 year’s experience as a Hostess or in a similar food and beverage role
• Good verbal communication skills in English, additional languages (Arabic, Russian) are an advantage.
• Strong guest service and interpersonal skills
• Pleasant, professional, and well-groomed appearance
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage service
• Basic computer skills

• Flexible to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by operational needs.
• Able to manage busy service periods, waiting lists, reservations, and changing guest requirements
• Maintains a professional appearance and high standards of personal hygiene
• Demonstrates teamwork, professionalism, and a warm, guest-focused approach
• Committed to maintaining a clean, organized hostess area and following food safety, hygiene, and health and safety procedures
• Willing to attend training and continuously develop knowledge of restaurant operations, hotel facilities, and service standards
