Position Overview

Seeking an experiencedIndustrial Painter/Sandblaster to prepare metal surfaces and apply protective coatings in an industrial environment. The position involves surface preparation, spray application, equipment maintenance, quality checks, and working safely in challenging conditions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare metal surfaces by sandblasting to remove rust, scale, and existing coatings.
• Mask surfaces and prepare areas for coating application.
• Mix and applyepoxy, urethane, and zinc-rich primers.
• Operateairless, HVLP, and conventional spray equipment.
• Use technical drawings, work orders, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to complete work according to specifications.
• Verify coating thickness and follow required application standards.
• Inspect painting and blasting equipment and make minor repairs or adjustments when needed.
• Maintain equipment in safe, proper working condition.
• Work in confined spaces, at heights, and under varying environmental conditions.
• Follow PPE, confined-space, fall/height, and other required safety procedures.
• Document surface preparation, paint application, job progress, and quality-control information.
• Work effectively with team members and communicate job-related information.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred.
• 2–3 years of industrial painting and sandblasting experience.
• Proficiency with airless, HVLP, and conventional spray equipment.
• Experience with sandblasting, masking, and other surface preparation methods.
• Knowledge of epoxy, urethane, and zinc-rich coatings.
• Ability to read technical drawings, work orders, and SDS documents.
• Familiarity with coating thickness requirements and measurement tools.
• Strong knowledge of PPE and safe work practices for confined spaces and elevated work.
• Able to lift up to50 lbs. and perform physically demanding work.
• Willing to work flexible schedules, including weekends and overtime when needed.
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation and quality-control skills.
• Effective communicator and team player.
