Shift: 1st Shift; provides oversight for possible 2nd Shift operations
Pay: Starting at $30.00/hour, with higher pay available depending on experience

Position Overview

Seeking an experiencedPaint & Load Operations Lead to coordinate daily painting, blasting, and steel loading activities. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for workflow, employee training, quality control, documentation, safety, and meeting production and delivery schedules.

What You'll Do

• Help interview and select qualified or trainable candidates for the department.
• Train and support new employees in painting and related operations.
• Coordinate daily painting, blasting, and loading assignments based on production needs.
• Work with logistics, production, and management to keep workflow on schedule.
• Monitor daily production and shipping schedules, including overtime and weekend requirements when necessary.
• Make sure required paint documentation is completed accurately each day.
• Use gauges, meters, and testing equipment for daily checks and verify proper calibration and operation.
• Perform QA/QC inspections to confirm finished work meets project and manufacturer specifications.
• Review load tickets for accuracy and ensure information is entered into production/shipping software.
• Train team members on production and shipping systems as needed.
• Identify process improvements and communicate recommendations to management.
• Enforce safety requirements and address unsafe practices.
• Participate in corrective action and progressive discipline when required.
• Provide consistent, professional leadership and promote teamwork.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in structural steel fabrication painting and/or loading operations.
• At least2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of painting standards and quality-control procedures.
• Experience with production or shipping software preferred.
• Ability to lead, train, and hold team members accountable to established policies and procedures.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, schedules, and deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accurate, high-quality work.
• Strong focus on workplace safety and the ability to promote safe work practices.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
