Product Designer-Mechanical

The position of Product Designer – Mechanical offers dynamic challenges in designing HVAC system components.  We are looking for an individual who is technically inclined and is interested in developing design skills to meet industry needs.  Â

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
- Designing and testing HVAC equipment and systems according to client specifications and industry standards using SolidWorks and other software tools.
- Performing calculations, simulations, and analysis of HVAC systems to optimize performance, efficiency, cost, and manufacturability.
- Preparing technical reports, drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and manufacturing documentation for HVAC projects.
- Collaborating with manufacturing teams, other engineers, designers, contractors, and clients to ensure successful delivery of HVAC solutions.
- Troubleshooting and resolving any issues or problems related to HVAC systems.
- Providing service support to our existing clients by responding to their inquiries, requests, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
- Staying updated on the latest trends and developments in HVAC technology and engineering.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:Â
- Graduated from a Mechanical Engineering degree or Technology program.
- Knowledge of the mechanical engineering principles, codes, standards, manufacturing, and testing related to the HVAC industry, including electrical and controls would be considered an asset.
- Application knowledge of international standards used in sustainable building design and the technical air distribution technologies used in green building design would be considered an asset.
- A strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, project management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
- A proficiency in using SolidWorks and other engineering tools.
- Previous experience with sheet metal manufacturing processes is considered an asset.
- MRP or ERP experience is considered an asset.
- The ability to travel throughout North America.
