JOB DESCRIPTION
No Job Description for a position can possibly include all duties which may be requested by guest or required by the hotel. Â The objective of all positions is to effectively provide the services personally, or to immediately refer requests to the appropriate department manager. The following is a summary of the major responsibilities of the position.

JOB TITLE: Â Â Â Â Maintenance Engineer (Class 2)

JOB PURPOSE: Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â To ensure a safe, efficient, well-maintained hotel environment while providing maintenance services to guests in a courteous, professional, and engaging manner. Â Â
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
•   Maintain all mechanical items in guest rooms and public areas.
•   Receive direction for house calls via radio.
•   Assist engineers and mechanics with repairs.
•   Clean all work areas after completing job.
•   Fill out daily work requests in Synergy.
•   Have a thorough understanding of Omni fire alarm procedures and other emergencies.
•   Have a thorough understanding of Omni Hotel rules and regulations.
•   Assist hotel guests with any guest room maintenance issues (plumbing, lighting, electrical, painting, etc).
•   Perform preventative maintenance responsibilities on all guest rooms as assigned.Â
•   Maintain all mechanical items in guest rooms and public areas.
•   Work as a team to keep the back of house areas and equipment in safe, good working order.Â
•   Clean all work areas after completing job.
•   Assists mechanics and external contractors in repairs of hotel property and equipment.Â
•   Completion of all assigned work orders and daily tasks.
•   Receive direction for house calls via radio.
•   Have a thorough understanding of OSHA rules and regulations.
•   Be familiar with all hotel amenities and hotel facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•   Prior building maintenance experience and/or relevant technical training, including commercial laundry and kitchen equipment experience.  Â
•   Candidate must have the knowledge and ability to use the proper equipment and tools (ladders, genie-lift, etc.), and to include Personal protective equipment.Â
•   Must possess painting, basic plumbing, basic electrical, minor carpentry, lighting and computer skills.Â
•   Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.Â
•   Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
•   Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
•   Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS:
•   Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.Â
•   Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift. Â
•   Requires repetitive motion of arms and hands.Â
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:
•   Painting/finishing tools and equipment, ladder, telephone, pen/pencil, copying machine and push to talk radio. SALTO Card system, basic and power hand tools (i.e. hammer, screwdriver, etc.), step stools and ladders
